I am the 2nd owner, owned the car for 2 years. It was originally sold in Long Beach, CA. I bought it from the original owner here in Memphis.

Since I have owned the car: front end professionally rebuilt, dual exhaust system added, MSD digital 6 ignition system, new front brakes, new power steering pump, new alternator, performer intake, rebuilt thermoquad on the forged crank 440.

Car was equipped with the sure brake system, which has been bypassed. As well as the auto temp 2 (kinda jake leggy by the previous owner). When charged, the AC works very well and has not been converted from R12.

The past 2 years the car made the trip from Memphis to Mobile for Mopars at the Battleship with no issues and averaged 14 miles to the gallon at 65 mph. Car runs like a 220 horse champion! Car is driven daily, has approximately 130,000 miles.

At some point the engine was rebuilt or replaced, but I do not know when. When i did the intake swap, I observed the engine to be very clean on the inside.

The bad: Nothing structural... Car has minor bruise on right rear corner. There is some rust under vinyl top and a small amount below the quarter windows. Brake booster needs to be rebuilt. Electrical system could use some attention. Quarter windows do not roll down. 8 track player does not work (comes with Elvis Presley 8 track). Front seats could use covers and foam, other than that the interior is great.

Overall the car is very solid. I drive it EVERYWHERE! Please email kaitlyn.david7240@gmail.com for more pictures and any questions!

Offered at $5,000.

Looks like a nice driver for someone, best of luck finding a new home for it. Can't say I've seen the tailpipes located there before.

Thanks, the giant tank and location of the springs didn't really lend themselves to a traditional rear exit... The tips weren't really to my taste but... They are there.

Why is it up for sale.
Please do not say "time to pass it on to somebody who will appreciate it as much as I did".
We already assume that.

My dear father, who is of advanced years and his buddy, also senior, we're going to surprise me by replacing the sending unit in my 77 pick up while I was at mopars the battleship. The truck fell off the lift. Nobody was hurt. It turned into a full on resto and it's time to pay the fiddler.

Since you ask I think your price is a fair place to start as it has a lot going for it but at the same time it has some expensive issues with the rust that will keep offers low. My .02...

In fairness, If I came to see the car, my desire would drop once I opened the hood.
At that price anyway. Would give me the initiative to lowball you.

Well, I do realize that the c body core on these sites does seem to lean to the stone stock side. Stock manifolds, closed element filters, Napa cams etc etc. I also realize that this car has a narrow market. What's a lowball offer? The car generates interest where ever it goes. Guess I'll put a sign in the window and see how it shakes out. Thanks.

Probably not fair to publish what offers we would make as people not interested in making you an offer. Again, I think your starting point is good and this thread as evidence that you're open to offers should suffice.

Well, here you go gang, before I set this ol girl out in the wild..... Any takers at $3,800? Thats the bottom line. There is alot right with this car, if that isn't cheap enough I'll just keep it. I would like to see the car go to an enthusiast so here it is.

I don't think price alone is necessarily keeping it from selling.

People around here tend to have too many projects already...I know I am booked right at the moment!

Have you considered posting it for sale over at the Imperial owners club site, to see if there is interest there?

I have not made a real effort to sell the car. Actually I dread the process. Tire kickers, jerks, phonies... I figured I'd cut to the chase, put the bottom line on it and see if it got some action.
If this approach is not a hit I will list it locally and deal with the circus. Thanks for lookin.

Well, I am sure there is an Imperial collector somewhere who is interested.

Again, I would suggest the Imperial Owners Club web site as something to consider.

http://www.imperialclub.com/classifieds/index.htm

If I were selling, I would go there before craigslist, for certain!

Just looked at the "Imperials Wanted" section and saw this:

"Looking for a 1964 to 1973Chrysler Crown Imperial or lebaron am in fort lauderadle florida send me an email to enriquesboat@hotmail.com"

May be a scam or may be legit. I would say more legit than scam...just because its on that site.

When I look at the pictures of your Imp...for some reason...I just think "That car looks like it belongs in Texas!"

Don't ask me why. Maybe if you put some longhorns on the hood? (slightly joking)

Wish you the best and that car deserves a good home.
