We mentioned this just a few days ago...

Hmmm...

1) most importantly the windshield wipers don't work. the wiper motor works but it needs a new linkage arm. 2) when I first bought it, I installed a cd player in it. however when I took the car out of storage this spring, the cd player wouldn't/doesn't work. don't know why. doesn't light up or anything. don't know if its the wiring or just the cd player is broke. don't know. 3) the passengers side door handle doesn't work from the inside. you have to roll down the window and use the handle on the outside to get out. 4) theres a side pocket on the drivers side door that closes with a snap button. the cloth is torn so it doesn't really stay closed. sort of hard to explain but its really an easy fix I just never really got around to it

"The one and only Bluesmobile!!!!!" And it's been dipped....

:mob::mob::mob:

Doesn't anyone want just a plain-Jane '74 Monaco anymore?

I agree however with all the hype of the 'blues brothers' and the rather large cult following that it still maintains it has really pushed up the value and parts availability of this year and model even other year monaco's I believe have been affected to a degree..

Hell I paid $120.00USD + $40 shipping for a dam front turn signal lens (no bezel just plastic lens cover) granted it was nos but i couldnt source a used one anywhere!

I think all the cbodies are generally under rated/valued by the masses so any publicity that highlights or creates an interest in them should bring new enthusaists to keep our cars going when we are all long dead and gone. I know my 14yr old son is hanging with dad in the shed and 'passing tools' all because he recently watched the bb movie and has now decided dads cars are cool! 'Anything' to get him off the bloody xbox or smart phone has to be good!

Im bias but the front of the 74 is eye candy to me!

If that was my car, I'd initially start it off around that figure just to get the pulse of the market on this oddball.
The supply of these is pretty much dried up.
The 10k didn't startle me much.

A few years ago this car would have been sold already. But the bluesmobile community has died down quite a bit. I think the car will still pull it in, just not as quick...

She does look clean!!

Put in a '69 cop 440... what a sleeper!

Big Blumo community from Wisconsin east to Ohio...especially around Chicago and western Indiana. Seen several around the "Crossroads of America" Highway 41 and 30 in Indiana.

Saw the movie several times (in the theater no less, when it first came out). Loved it, quoted it, wore my wayfarers in my Chally convertible, blasting the Peter Gunn theme and carried around a briefcase full of sunglasses (still have that!). Loved all the Mopar attention it generated, but still never had the desire to create a Bluesmobile. I'm still holding out hope that after all the work he is putting into it, and all the positive influence from this forum, that Zac will return his to this stock beauty.:poke:

No, no, and no. lol I've thought about it several times. But I have way to much fun with it the way she is. :eek:ccasion14:

Besides, I already traded the original ' 75 grill in some horse trading. So she'll never be correct again lol

Wow! $6k for a 74 Sedan? I guess having a 440 and Bluesmobile potential has a lot to do with it.
