My '70 Fury III Pursuit had a vinyl roof added sometime. When we found the build sheet we discovered alot of information, one that the car did not have a vinyl roof. The rallye wheels and vinyl roof could of been added after Police use to enhabce saleablilty. Remember almost no one wanted used Police cars in those days.

Your absolutely right. Many bought them cheap at auctions, and dressed them up for quick resale. Back then, an old police car was just bottom end basic transportation.

That car could of been used for parades too and PR events and dressed up a little with the road wheels and other items.
