Stan.. what's you price opinion on something like this? $5,500 too much?
I would start at $5k and the start deducting for all the faults.
I would scrutinize every bulb, guage, window, nut and bolt.
The A/C had better freeze my balls off and the heater melt the soles on my shoes.
Brakes, front end, exhaust,..
It had better idle like a watch, accelerate as smooth as an electric motor and run alk day either in traffic or the highway without overheating.
Check under the rocker panel trim for rust as well as the two wells in the trunk.
In other words, give me an hour with it and it will be worth 35-hundred.
On the other hand if it is local and it is your dream car because you had your first back seat whoopee in one exactly like this, then it might be priceless.
I love Formals but this one is just ok AFAIAC. In fact I hate that non-factory vinyl roof treatment. Just way too much canvas.

I'm not Stan, but I'll weigh in on this one. This car has been on my radar for well over a year...IDK how long he's been trying, but the pics haven't changed much and this is the most flexible I have seen him in pricing and tone yet. There are 2 of these polluting the local CL sites for a very long time, the other is blue. They both want too much and judging by the lack of meaningful price reductions and the strong language or tone of their adds I never even bothered with either of them.

Both cars are likely to be solid, but at $5500-$6500 I am sure will be disappointing to look at in person. They are fun to watch as they change their pricing on the different local CL sites, my standard search for "Chrysler older than 1980" puts both on the same page several times. I may be traveling over toward Tampa in the next few weeks, If I do and can arrange it, I would like to kick the tires on this one as I held it in my mind as my "last resort Formal" for quite a while.

To be me... I will differ from Stan... start at $2500 and move up or down as you find features you like/dislike... a Formal of this age is easy to pick apart. Very few have recently received much in the way of maintenance/repair parts and the parts supply is bad enough to make it very unlikely anyone recently redid anything correctly to it. I would bet that Stan's NYB is going to be the most well sorted Formal around, based on his recent work to the car, all nicely discussed and documented here.

And he knows he wont recoup that investment, which is my favorite thing about him.

I bought my cars because I wanted it to satisfy my soul, not my checking account.

QUE: Irony...
The only cars I ever came out ahead on were my Corvettes. Go figure...

Thanks for the input.. I'm itching for another Formal. Maybe a 4dr. this time. (75-78) I think.. As Loaded as I can get it. I'll keep my current 2dr. though. Just poking around for the right one. If you guys see any out there, shoot me a notice of some sort. I did find a Red 2dr. (Sunroof) car In Welland CN that tripped my trigger, But after a Fellow "C" body member (mr.fixit) was gracious enough to take a drive over and look at the car for me. It seems to need more work then I can give it. So the search continues.

With no surprises $3500....

The leather is in great shape, manual A/C is a plus, probably a low mileage car with the minimal wear that I can see. Probably still has the Lean Burn hooked up.

I agree with Stan...not a fan of that vinyl top.
