My dad John Ryan (a worked at the Belvidere plant. My grandparents wanted a new car and in those days only the employee could get “green sheet” pricing so my dad put the order in

My dad had aspirations of having a large apple orchard which he put a lot of time and money into

One of the neighbors Dave Finnestad worked in paint. He had gicen my dad the nickname John Apples Ryan

As you can see in the pics an extra fender tag was under the hood when the car was delivered

Now that is absolutely amazing!

Is this car still with you?

Did I mention that is amazing! One of the best fender tags I have ever seen.
Having a personal note made at the factory by the factory guys for a factory guy is just super cool!

Thanks for posting.

Unfortunately it’s not

My grandparents passed it to me and I put a lot of miles on it

It was pretty rusty and at 215k miles it went to its final reward

Still ran good would like to have it today to run around in but you know how it goes

Not to talk sacrilege on this site but it gave lots of problems until it hit 100k

Not uncommon to be replacing a ballast resistor in some parking lot

Always had a couple in the glove box

About that time the cam went flat

Put in a used one from a 71 360 my understanding it was the same cam

Anyway it just seemed to be very reliable after that

Went through a spell were alternators kept going out

I finally realized they had an oil film all over them

Figured out that the valve cover vent was plugged and blowby was coming up the dipstick tube

I guess Mopar’s really aren’t broken in until 100k miles

Great driving car

Miss that one too

At least you got 215K out of the ole girl.
What a cool story.

Did you happen to keep it's broadcast sheet or anything else from the car?
Since your family bought it brand new they would have had all the paperwork.

I’ll have to look but I think the only thing I have is the owners manual

Don’t remember seeing anything like the broadcast sheet

I do have one headlight cover from my uncles wrecked 76 RMB if anyone is interested

Thanks
