Manual A/C. The antenna and the CB doesn't work.

Wait you could get a factory CB? WTF i must find one now

You could in 1978. I don't know if they were available in previous years in Formal's. My NYB had one. Of course it didn't work and the antenna din't work either. Of course the antenna isn't available anywhere on the planet.

Another Formal tidbit for the Formal guys.

The power CB antenna is different. It automatically goes up when you turn the radio on and automatically goes down when you turn the radio off. There is no power antenna switch with this option. I had to cut a hole in mine to put the regular power antenna and switch in my NYB that Mr. C gave me.

The CB and antenna in this car doesn't work either....

See....no power antenna switch.

I am so gonna hunt me down one of those for the Doba. Ive got one now that raises the antenna as soon as the radio is turned on so maybe that antennae would work? Uh hold on CB antennas were different weren't they....think I'll go 10-100 and think about that lol

I have one of those radios I'm planning to put into my Magnum. I believe there were power and non-power versions of the antenna. The main difference is that there are two antenna leads (also slightly longer).

The radio I have is from my grandfather's car. I remember using it in the 70s /80s and it worked awesome. The best thing was you could listen to the radio and by setting the squelich (sp?) control strong CB signals would override the radio. I remeber talking to truckers on trips down to Naples... maybe Stan?

The microphone holder was supposed to go where the power antenna switch would be. This and that auto up/down antennas were coming into fashion... a gadget I never liked as I prefer to roll my own up/down.

Get a drill, put a hole right through the middle of the roof and put a bright red Wilson fire stick on there and you can talk to someone 500 feet away. Lol

I'm thrilled your tractor doesn't sport a pair of 10 footers, tilted 45° forward, that have the big *** coil that looks like a front axle spring.

I do have that but only one, oh and the coil is more like a valve spring. I have a free antenna, a rebuilt radio from 12-13 years ago and a $8 microphone and every time I grab it to tell some ( fill in the blank) large trucking company newbie what they are f&$+IMG up there is just dead air, most of them don't even have a radio so I have to resort to sign language.

Dammit I have got to make it down to the Big Daddy show this year. Jer what are you doing early November?
BTW Stan were your ears burning a little after 10 am on Sat because with all of us together your name poped up immediately LOL wish you could have been there.
