78 NYB trunk number

Anyone else have this on their NYB? An assembly line mark off? Not earth shattering, but curious as to why it was never removed.

Assembly line mark.

Usually, they put tire size under the deck lid so they put the correct size spare in. It could also be a suspension code as it begins with an "S". If you have the broadcast sheet, it might be interesting to see if there's a S08 box that's checked.

Assembly line workers used to send messages down the line to friends like that too... Supper at 8?
