8.75 axle shaft question

How many teeth are on my shaft splines for my 69 Newport. 8.75 open diff, 489 third member, 2.76 or 3.23 ratio (not sure). Looking to upgrade to a sure grip diff and I want to make sure that I buy the right one.

I'm confused. You say "axle shaft question"
Axle splines are all the same.

Pinions have different spline counts:

All are 30 spline stock make sure the bearings for suregrip are for 742/489 as the 741 case uses different bearings shouldn't be a problem most kits are for larger pinion centers

Thank you gentlemen! I am going to rebuild the cyrrent axle so I will replace whatever bearings it has. Thanks again for the help.
