The 80's - good times! To save gas dad bought a maroon 1982 Dodge maxi-van with a slant 6 and a four speed tranny, but did order it with AC and an FM radio. When your are learned how to drive, bigger is better, but this thing was practically an RV. Around town was not bad, but the freeway was interesting, especially driving I-75 around Detroit and on I- 696 - ie the Michigan 500. I just remember the throws between gears felt about 2-1/2 ft long....riding lawn mowers had shorter throws.
I would be tempted to buy to keep as the "cabin truck" up north, a great going into town vehicle to pick up stuff.

Not mine , just saying be aware that the title and smog issues could add up quickly. In ca they seller is required to provide the buyer with a current smog certificate . When I was doing smog inspections ,I can not tell you how many times the customer said I got a good deal on this as the seller said , you smog it and I,ll knock off x amount off the price. In the past there was no cost limitation for repairs or modified smog equipment . I believe that is still true. Title could have a ton of back fees also. Just something to check if going to register in Ca.

Thanks for clarifying.
