Sample of a Black/Tan Interior.

For sale sign in the windshield "appears" to me to say $18,000??

Anybody able to read it any better?

I think that air cleaner is a Chrysler part (but NOT factory installed on this particular car). I know the large chrome un-silenced ones were standard on at least some of the 426Ws in 65. Think Coronet 500. Not 100% sure about C-bodies . . . but, I think they may have been standard on the 426W Monaco/Polara/Custom 880 as well.

Don't think the large chrome ones were standard on ANY of the 413s. But . . . if I remember correctly, they were also available through the 65 Performance Parts catalogue.

With the black dash & carpet should the door panels be all black too?

Mine, like Rexus's has the red interior with two tone red/maroon doors. Don't think I've ever seen an all black interior.

I have a 1965 300 L with the red interior. The leather seats in the car are of the same layout pattern as this example for sale and mine are original and are all smooth (not the basketweave inserts as used in the vinyl non-letter cars). Everything is red, with no black. I doubt a red /black leather seat option was ever offered in an L - at least I have never seen one either in person or in any of the many photos of these cars I have seen over the years. I believe this car for sale started life as a black interior, since if it were red, the dashpad would have been red as well. Two of my Ls have the small unsilenced air cleaners (black painted) and I think my third one does as well, but I would have to look to be sure. Two of mine are California cars with the PCV provision too. I believe the larger silenced air cleaners were used on the 383-4 engines whereas the Ls had the small air cleaners stock.

Addendum, even my federal L has the smaller air cleaner, so it was probably standard on all the Ls.

I recently passed on one of these. It was/is rock solid, complete and was really cheap. Besides not having the time or room for it(or quite frankly the spare cash:rolleyes:) it was powder blue and that was a deal breaker.

Here's an all Black Leather Interior, Dan:

Steve is correct. The car for sale has a black dash and pad so it was most likely all black from the factory.

Additionally I would have tried to flip it if I had pulled the trigger and it was also a non-ac car and I was afraid I'd be stuck with it.
Oh and no power vents...
