...as to which car to take on the Hot Rod Hundred tour this coming Saturday, the 25th. The Imperial...or the Coronet? I've been in five runs so far - three in the Coronet and two in the Imperial. This year, it follows the old Route 66 from Arcadia, OK to Weatherford, OK. Weatherford is having a big 66 bash marking the 95th anniversary of the opening of the Mother Road. Also there is the Stafford Air and Space Museum, which is a trip unto itself. This Saturday will be a bucket of fun, regardless of which car I choose to take.

If you ever get a chance to participate in a HR100, you need to! They are open to 1972 and older cars, but if you appear in a later '70s or even '80s car, they'll allow it. The OKC HR100 is the last of the series for 2021. Check the link for this year's runs and videos from previous runs:

If the Imperial is heads, and the coronet is tails, I have a double headed quarter you can borrow…. Just say’n. :)

I think that if the weather cooperates, I'll take the Imperial for the season's last blast with the top down and the wind through my receding hairline! Plus, the driver's side quarter window is stuck "down" currently (crap!), making a rainy day run not a lot of fun, in that case.

If it looks at all sketchy (rain and such), I'll take the Coronet. That car seems to find its sweet spot at 3100 RPM @ 80 mph.

Either way, I'll have video up on my youtube channel of portions of the run next week, I'll put up the link when I get that posted.

Restore balance to the Universe... fix window and take the Imperial!

Easy procedure on the door windows. The quarter windows require a bunch of disassembly to get to the window motor and mechanism. I'm going to probably tear into things tonight and see if things can simply be lubed up, or if the motor is going to have to be pulled apart, lubed, new rollers inside, and reinstalled. Might as well do the RR quarter window, if the seat and all are coming out.

Or, I can just hope for good weather on Saturday and do the tour, then tear into the windows next week when I won't be nearly as rushed.
