Finished up my timing chain project on my 1975 440. The car now starts on the first spin (3-4 times in a row so far and the engine almost jumps to start) and no white smoke or flames coming up through the carburetor throat. I wanted to thank everyone on this board (and my race car neighbor) for walking me through this project with their experience and pictures. I couldn't have done it without you and this forum. Thanks to you guys I saved $1500 that my mechanic wanted. My only regret is that I wasted so much time thinking that the starting issue was due to the carburetor and not the timing chain. Anyway, thanks very much. Paul

sounds great, congrats on sticking with it and completing the job.

All the other things you did are contributing to it starting easily now.

I would second the thanks to all who help on the forum. I have been on mine now for almost two years and really appreciate some of the experience from others on tech notes, parts, and more. Great place for help on our projects.
