Also, one more thing i find interesting abt this car.......a 3 spd manual with a hitch on it? Isn't this the last thing you'd want for towing?

Seen recently in a scrapyard (4 Cyl 4spd Mustang Coupe with 4 wheel manual drums, non-power steering, and a big honking receiver hitch with a 7 pin connector)

People do weird crap, the spot light for instance, pedals look factory? and they are PB pedals, they all have the chrome.

i asked a q last time and nobody answered it, so i'll ask it again: why does the dash look like it has an AT shift quadrant (PRND21)? look at the dash pic...........do my eyes deceive me?

it also looks like it does not have PS.......no pump under the hood
the ad says no ps or pb. i can't believe that a three on the tree was even available . maybe rare but totally undesireable. just my 2 cents.

we need to see a tag pic

and are you sure on the non-pwr brakes? looks like the master sits out from the firewall a bit and that there is a larger hose going up that way, like the vac assist.

There is no Power Brakes on this car! The cowl bumps out another 3" or so where the master is. The booster would hide the steering column bushing from his angle.

What you are seeing as a hose is the battery cable to the starter.

i would love to own this car-this is the first time i've seen it. after 20 years of drining '71 automatics- icould just dream of driving a stick newport

This is indeed a manual brake car...and MrMopar got it right...that is the battery cable you see. Also I think this is a true 3spd car. You can't see any cooler line connections in the bottom of the rad, and the throttle linkage on the intake looks to be manual set-up...and the steering column appear to not have the auto column shifter collar on the bottom near the bearing.

As for the auto sequence on the dash...yes it could be a replacement cluster, or maybe it left the factory that way. They car came down the line, they didn't have a proper shifter delete plate set-up, so tossed in what was there?

Yeah a tag shot would clear up a lot of confusion.

alright, someone educate me in this mornings' class...........why would the batt cable be going down along the firewall like that? does it tie into the bulkhead connector before going to the starter?

I need to go home and take a good look @ my car after work.

Now you guys have me wanting this car too..........boy, is this illness contagious!

Dunno about that, the problems i had with the last car darn near cured it, but i had a relapse.

I agree the fender tag would solve a lot of mystery about this car.

I thought Stan had thanked a fellow for buying it and bringing it here so he could see the progress
I believe the 3 speed fusie we were talking about back then was this one and it was bought by a member named ozz383

Not sure why C-bodies are like this. My 68 T/C wagon is like that too. Maybe sine a lot of the C-bodies had their starter relay on the firewall?

Commando...that car is you. My only concerns with it are the lack of trim on the one side (that would be a bugger to find like any C body trim) any associated damage with the trim being gone (a rub?) and the lack of rad shroud...I bet it runs hot and for some reason C body shrouds are hard to come by.
