If, after getting it to take the full throttle at 30 mph in first gear, it will go through all three gears and pull to 90 at full throttle, and not run out of gas, then it's not a fuel delivery problem or a low float setting problem. That ain't it.
Could be the float is set extremely high, and the added accelerator shot is temporarily flooding the engine. But it would recover and not fall on its face. That probably ain't it.
You are describing a severely advanced timing stumble condition. But it would instantly recover and go to knocking. Not fall on its face. That probably ain't it.
Burned points can cause a temporary stumble, but not matching your description. That probably ain't it.
Bad vacuum leak can cause a bad stumble, but will present other symptoms with it. That probably ain't it.
Failing condenser can cause all kinds of strange behavior. Could be it.
Cracked cap can cause a nasty and lasting stumble, then recover. Could be it.
But,
It appears that the carb is going lean in one or more of the many fuel feed circuits.
My suggestion at this time would be to "completely" disassemble the carb, soak "all" the parts in PineSol brand cleaning oil for about a week, blow everything out good and check that all the passages have nice air flow and put it back together.
It's an easy carb to rebuild and setup. There are a few hidden pieces that can jump out and hide from you so watch all of the many You Tube videos. Take it apart before you order your rebuild kit, so as to identify all the correct parts you will need in the kit.
