I have a 72 custom suburban. 9 passenger Light blue. 400 engine, automatic, factory air not working. Recent paint. All trim is perfect. Starts easy and runs good. Needs plastic rollers for driver window. I hardly drive it. Current California registration. Located in Orange County California.

The roof rack is back on it now. As for rust, the bottom of the spare tire has a hole and there is a dime-size hole in the passenger fender behind the wheel well. No rust on any chassis parts at all. This sat in the desert so she's pretty dry.

72/3s are hard to price. Id say this car would be worth 6500 on the low end, and 12k at the high end.

@MBar -- could you please post pics of the interior (seats, carpets, door panels, headliner, dash), engine bay, and the fender tag (as well as the build sheet, if you have it)? That will help assess value.

PS: I see the rear A/C vents, which suggests an expensive option was prt of your car's build -- if there are more such unusual options, then the price may be affected at the margin. That is one reason why seeing the build sheet will eb a good idea.

Really that low? To me id expect so.eone asking 15k for it in 2024/25
That's on the low end. 72/73 market is funny. Recently seen 2 nice 73 wagons sell, one a Brown 400 car with some nice upgrades, interior needed work, but overall, a decent wagon. I believe this was a members car. It went for 15k on B.A.T. The other was another member's car. It was a Beige 360 car, and I personally think it looked nicer, same interior in nice shape, turn key ready to go condition as well. It brought a little more than half of that on B.A.T a month or so later

Why was there 7k difference? over a small block? Doubtful. Just goes to show how much the C body market can fluctuate.

For this particular 72 I'd be starting on the higher end of the spectrum, if the interior is intact and there is no major mechanical issues. Looks like a good wagon.

Even in some of the Mecum auctions, similar vehicles can bring highly-variable results. One near the top of the chart as the other one is much more mediocre. In looking at the pictures online, the two cars looked more equal than the pricing might indicate. UNLESS there was something about one of them that killed the money. Or perhaps there was someone there that was the right person at the right time, so things happened well.

In many cases, the financial value of some vehicles does not reflect the ultimate utility of the vehicle. Which can make them fantastic bargains for somebody looking to buy one. Not so good for the seller, though.

Have you checked some of the online valuation websites? Hagerty, NADA, etc.?

Took a bunch of pics... Every time I get near this thing I fall in love... Just have too many and don't drive it much soooo... If the price is right ...

PH46M2D288392 (if I read correctly) looks like a very nicely equipped HB1 3-row wagon. Do you have photos showing the shape of the seats, floors, and dash?
