AFB Carb Experts...

I have seen several Triangle shape aluminum tags on many Mopar Carter carbs. They come in different colors and have the carb.number and other spec.too.

My other 65 Monaco had the triangle tag on the Carter AFB, outlined in RED in the picture from the factory. That is the correct mounting location for the tag as well. I never had a chance to get that one rebuilt. Sold that car.

The carburetor on my 66 is supposedly from a 1965 Chrysler 413. Can anybody who actually has a 65 413 post some pictures of the choke side of the carb showing the divorced choke mechanism and how it connects to the carb? Mike's Carburetor has an electric choke conversion kit that fits the 413 but they say it does not fit the 66 383 and I want to check it out.

Did you call and ask? They know very well what they are selling.

Actually I finally did call Mike's to ask a bunch of questions. They tried to be helpful but did not seem very knowledgable. Then yesterday I called Daytona and talked to a guy named Ron. He spent at least 30 minutes with me on the phone, pulled parts books and even Carter engineering drawings. He answered all my questions and I was so pleased I ordered my parts from him - a carb kit, floats, choke pulloff, and a universal electric choke conversion kit which I may or may not use. Their prices were a bit lower than Mike's but what sold me was the backup. I will cover my rebuild on my project thread once I get everything.

Cool, glad you got what you needed. I just needed a simple rebuild kit and float. They had two versions of the same kit and sailed me in the right direction on what one to get. Good luck, My choke probably needs replaced too. It works but it doesn't hold vacuum.

Based on the info Daytona gave me I also just found a NOS choke thermostat on Ebay and snagged it.
