Well folks, I was unsuccessful in my attempt to remove the 3/8" plug on the passenger side of the block. As many of you mentioned, it is indeed difficult to remove. In this case, the sides began to round off during my attempts at removal. However, I was able to find a brass "T" fitting that was able to accommodate both the sending unit and the port for the mechanical pressure gauge. Within a few moments after returning from the local Car Quest, both my warning light and oil pressure gauge are working as expected. Thanks to all of you who offered your advice and sarcasm.
