You can fit a ton of tire on C-bodies - you'll just need to grab your measuring tape.

If you calculate correctly you can fit a lower profile 315 rear tire with very little modification. I've had a 315/35ZR20 on the back before and had to clearance a little on the skirt and change how they attach - but they fit with no rubbing.

I know this group typically doesn't like oversize wheels, though 17" isn't really that big for 15" being a standard offering 40 years ago. Currently my Newport is sitting on 22" wheels, which I know is considered to tarnish the model to some. My brother has 20" wheels on his Windsor and it looks pretty good and hasn't diminished the ride quality.

If it's 17's or 18's you want - go for it! Just measure, measure again, and maybe you should measure one more time before you order.

Looking forward to see what you decide. There is no wrong result, it is simply what floats your boat!

Rear:
15x8 4.5" backspace Weld Draglite
28x11.5 M/T ET Streets, (switching to Hoosier)
Front:
15x7 4" backspace Weld Draglite
Can't remember the tire, will add later.

I also want to put 17" magnum 500 on my 68 300. Looking at a 275/55/17 rear with a 9" rim 5" or 51/2" back spacing on front a 235/70/17 8" rim.
