No shims. Alignment of the upper control arms is done using bolts with large eccentric washers on them. (I don't know if there's a more accurate term for that setup.)
...unless you're talking about aligning the front subframe where it bolts to the unibody.
Upper control arms are adjusted with cam bolts. (camber)
Tie rod's are adjusted with the adjustment sleeve. (toe)
If you're talking about the stub frame ... I'm not sure. I never saw any shims in anything I've had apart.
