That's a nice looking survivor, but totally wrong for my '66 Newport with its bench seat in the back. IDK about making an injection mold for poly-vinyls, so can't say myself.

Interesting how his catalog mentions boards with the essential jute insulation. My old one has that anyway. If this outfit does Chryslers, it may be worth trying. Do you have their URL?

I thought all ‘65-‘66 were the same style, certainly a bench rear seat changes the package tray style. Now I know more. I do know the trays were made of fiberboard and heard that sometimes folks would layer fiberglass over them to strengthen the trays. Good day.

I assumed most folks on this site were familiar with this resource since they offer many of the interior kits for seats and other parts of the interiors of our cars but maybe they are not as well-known as I thought. Due to Covid though, there are some long wait times for them getting out their products in a timely manner now too.

I would rather order seat covers for many of my cars from them rather than have to deal with SMS or an independent upholsterer trying to make them from scratch. I have bought many interior kits for my 300s and other vehicles and they are always perfect. I can appreciate the services they do supply but I agree that if they had even more to offer, that would be better yet.
Making a profit in this business is getting increasingly difficult these days as our cars dwindle in numbers as well as the number of folks really into restoring them as our age group generally diminishes in numbers.

On my son's Buick Skylark, I found a near-perfect rear shelf panel in blue that I used vinyl paint to change to tan. My original was toast, and I lucked out on finding a used one.
Way back in '85, my Coronet was getting repainted and having interior work done. I had them take that rear shelf panel and upholster it in black vinyl, even cutting the fabric to fit the 6x9 holes in the panel that already existed from my speaker install. Nearly 40 years later, and that has held up wonderfully.
If you end up cutting your own panel from scratch, upholster it in the same manner, and you'll have an outcome you will really enjoy looking at.

Agree, if they already sell your covers. They’re not interested in making any new kits. Mine were custom made locally to match original pattern, of a better vinyl and installed for amount SMS wanted for covers only.
I agree that I would not have SMS make my covers just because of all the hassles/waiting forever for my door panels for almost 4 years now but I would order the original material from them unless a better vinyl with substantially correct grain/color was available. Having a really good upholstery guy is paramount, and they are out there. I only recently found one that fully exceeded all my expectations and they make all the difference in the world.

I spoke to the gentleman from ABC several years ago, and mentioned that would be nice if they could reproduce those contoured 65-66 trays. As I recall, I believe he said that it's a large piece, lots of contour, and would be rather difficult to make - so he wasn't planning a run. ABC does make and sell the smaller side pieces (in fiberglass) that go on each side of the main section. I purchased a set of those, but haven't put them in yet, so can't comment. They look like nice quality pieces . . .
I meant to mention that I also talked with Bob about these parts and while they were on his "to do" list, he determined the pieces would be difficult to make and therefore expensive, and given the volumes he could reasonably project, he decided to not go ahead with those reproductions. He also has some slabsides including 1965 300s that could also use them but couldn't justify it.
Where do you order your interior parts from? I'm not finding much anywhere.

Wellll, I got the speakers at Wor$t Buy, then shopped at Michaels for the exact shade of vinyl cloth I planned to use to redo my package tray, and would likely have used Ace Hardware or Lowes for a board of masonite. After that, I would have made a cardboard template by fitting it into the space, cut my masonite large, then cut it down to fitting, then covered it.
Such was The Plan anyway. I look all over eBay, sundry classic car outfits et al, depending on what I need. eBay is my best general market for interior parts. Van's Auto is the store I use the most. Start there....

One of the first things I did with my '67 Sport Fury was make my own package tray using wood, plastic, body filler and vinyl. I was able to do a funky design too.
