But he wants $11K for it, which I believe will be tough to get for a 4 door.

Too many short cuts in that Price range. Not even an identical set of tires on, not to mention the rather strange repair method for the headliner and that trashy seat cover. Could be a good starting Point at the right Price, Body seems to be very solid.

I've seen this one listed for a while now,as saforwardlook says he wants $11k for it. There is a New Yorker 4dr in Los Angeles for $8,900 in better condition and it's been sitting for over a couple months too. It seems hard to get that for four doors.
I personally prefer the 1960's myself because of the boomerang tailights. I never understood Chryslers moving away from that feature in 1961 and going to the lower tailights.

The 1960 model year Chrysler had the best fins of all. Like the 57-58 front end a tad better though.

Want a 60 New Yorker 2dr or a convertible... Don't want to pay for it... any good pictures out there?

I cannot explain it, but I really like 61's. Where did you see the price at?

I saw the ad before and he had the price listed. It's been for sale for a while now. The 61's are definetly nice looking cars, but the 60's are my personal favorite of the two years. Boomerang tailights!!

Especially in that condition, the more you look at the pics the more is wrong with it. No radio, seats must be a need under the "Mexican blanket" seat covers, headliner, door cards, arm rests, rust on the bottom side of the deck lid, (water leaking in the trunk I'd presume), does the luminescent dash work? and on and on.
I think, 5 to 6k max.

1961 Chrysler Newport

VIN: 8113180426
condition: good
cylinders: 8 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
paint color: white
size: full-size
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
type: sedan

Serious inquiries please. This has a very strong 383with a AFB 4 Barrel carburetor, push button torque flight transmission, front end work, rear air shocks. Interior original with wear. Paint OK with wear. Some rust though it has lived in the dry high desert, not the coast. Four door hardtop. Currently licensed and registered. I am the second owner of this Chrysler and have used it as my family car. You can drive it away as it is, right now.

I called the guy. He is older of course and thinks the car is a hard to find jewell. I told him it is worth about $5k but he dismissed it immediately as a waste of his time to discuss it. So he will have it a long time.

Here is a link to a 1960 New Yorker that is really nice and the guy has had a very hard time selling it at about $10 - 11K (it went to Sweden ultimately):

Ok, thanks. I was wondering how the price was known.

That '60 is beautiful, indeed!
