why would anyone think that whatever he does makes it look better?

Guys new to the hobby who search for a car that's supposed to be in good condition and have no interest or ability to work on old cars themselves fall for them; seen it more often than once.
They take an expert with them when they shop for a second one after selling the first one off with a loss.

I see those photos as harsh to the eyes, its not just the car but the whole photo that looks awful

I was referring to the things that are actually done to the car by the dealer like ArmorAll or rattlecan blackout.

The fender tag says it was a nice looking car.
But with these photos: I wouldn't touch it.
Spray bomb black is a major alert to me.
If it is old and worn out with uncovered rust: ok, I can see what I get. But no perfumed pig for me.
I doubt that a european dealer will buy it as well as any knowledgeable person.
It will be bought by a Newbie with no experience. No matter if he sits in the US or europe or elsewhere in the world

Not calling any names, but there are some sellers on ebay here in FL who have 'no reserve' auctions that sell to last minute bidders and the cars show up a few weeks later on their own or another dealers commercial ebay website.

You can never tell with this guy. He is one of the few who protects bidders identity. Only one reason for that and that is to prevent you from looking up their bidding history for any shilling like the guy with 98 bids on 96 items at one time.
