Old Man with a Hat

Did a couple of them under warranty back when... even the factory piece required you to cut the holes as needed... kind of a PITA...Finally got this PITA done. Nothing like a new rug to revamp an interior! This carpet was the hardest one I’ve done. Took forever!
Should have gone a little lighter on the color... the old one was so dirty, and stained, this one looked to match it the most online. Need to get some new floor mats still. Think that’ll help too. I just ran the old ones through the washer for now.
Also got a dash carpet to help protect the new dash. Need to get the windows tinted also.

Yep, I recall making my life a bit harder by being afraid to cut too much and ruin a new carpet too. IIRC, it made it more interesting to get it over the shifter too. An "x" with a sharp razor blade and then a bunch of adjustment cuts to get it in place... then a final trim of the carpet without trimming any fingers...Thanks guys! Im pretty proud at the difference in just a few short months. Looks like a vehicle inside finally.
That transfercase shifter was kicking my ***! Original had a perfect circle cut along the outside of the screw holes, that held the boot on. Ofcoarse I was too afraid to cut too mich off, so had to fight the screws going in through carpet, and sound deadener.
ACC went buck wild on sound deadener on this carpet set!
Too late now... But in the future, a soldering iron is the way to go to make holes in your carpet. Perfect for making holes for screws. Thanks guys! Im pretty proud at the difference in just a few short months. Looks like a vehicle inside finally.

I recall trying to locate my "x" using the old carpet for a pattern and that not working out as smooth as I liked either.

Well I couldn’t wait for the weekend. I came home early. We hired some guys to come out, and remove a few trees from the yard. Took advantage of the time.
She sounds damn good! Much better!
