Think I found the cause of the problem, and hopefully solved it.

After talking with my ram buddy, he told me from the factory, the trucks had a sock of some sort on the a/c drain tube. 9 times out of 10 the sock disappears after time.

Driving down the road, the pressure under the hood forces the water back into the hvac box, not letting it drain properly.

I picked up some 1/2” hose, connected it to the drain tube, and routed it down facing the ground. Fingers crossed for no more water in the cab!

Finally got this PITA done. Nothing like a new rug to revamp an interior! This carpet was the hardest one I’ve done. Took forever!

Should have gone a little lighter on the color... the old one was so dirty, and stained, this one looked to match it the most online. Need to get some new floor mats still. Think that’ll help too. I just ran the old ones through the washer for now.

Also got a dash carpet to help protect the new dash. Need to get the windows tinted also.

Did a couple of them under warranty back when... even the factory piece required you to cut the holes as needed... kind of a PITA...

Thanks guys! Im pretty proud at the difference in just a few short months. Looks like a vehicle inside finally.

That transfercase shifter was kicking my ***! Original had a perfect circle cut along the outside of the screw holes, that held the boot on. Ofcoarse I was too afraid to cut too mich off, so had to fight the screws going in through carpet, and sound deadener.

ACC went buck wild on sound deadener on this carpet set!

Yep, I recall making my life a bit harder by being afraid to cut too much and ruin a new carpet too. IIRC, it made it more interesting to get it over the shifter too. An "x" with a sharp razor blade and then a bunch of adjustment cuts to get it in place... then a final trim of the carpet without trimming any fingers... :realcrazy::wtf:... and 2wd payed the same (I think). I recall trying to locate my "x" using the old carpet for a pattern and that not working out as smooth as I liked either.

Too late now... But in the future, a soldering iron is the way to go to make holes in your carpet. Perfect for making holes for screws.

Yup! Same carpet between 2wd, and 4wd. Thats what made it more of a pain. The glued on sound deadener on the backside is there for the 2wd in the place of where the shifter is on a 4wd. The 4wd has no sound deadener there on the trans tunnel.

I did the same as well. Layed the new carpet over old, and just made a slice for the shifter the slide through, then trim accordingly.

I did take your method, and went out and bought a cheap soldering iron just for the last several carpets I did. This is deff the way to do it. Works great! But of coarse I lost the iron somewhere to a box during the move, and can’t find it lol. Was stuck with a pair of scissors, and a razor for this one.

Ordered some goodies for the old girl, to get her to breath a little better. Ordered another 4” diamond eye straight pipe exhaust system (same as whats on the dually). Along with an AFE cold air intake. Hopefully have em installed this weekend.

Think I may have went a little overboard on the new exhaust tip. Its a pretty big lmao. I put it on the old exhaust for shits and giggles. Oh boy lol. It’ll look better tucked up under the truck hopefully.

Holy crap, Zac. Are you shitting me?

There was a method to the madness in my head while ordering.... lol

The 5” exhaust systems give a nice deeper growl, as well as supports more HP for down the road. However I didn’t want to mess with the headache of the 5” down pipe. Its a real tight fit from what I’ve heard/read.

From what I was seeing online, a bigger tip on the 4” system gives a similar note to the 5” system.

I knew an 8” tip would be too big, and there looked to be more room back there after seeing pics of some 6” tips on these trucks. So I settled on a 7”.

Wasn’t till today when I opened the box, and actually saw it. Hmmm.... lmao

I’d like to do a set of compounds in the future, so everything may change again down the road anyway. But that wouldn’t be for a while.

Not a thing unfortunately.... she’s hunkered down in the back of the garage, being used as a shelf. I’ve kept an eye out on parts here, and there. Aside from that nothing.

I wanna do this one right when the time comes. I want to build a rotisserie for it when the time for restoration comes. But, I also need power out in the shop, which I have not had done yet.

I’ve been having way to much fun with the new truck, and everything else has taken a back seat lately. Plus being summer, it is just miserable being out there. When winter gets here, it is a lot more enjoy able

Well I couldn’t wait for the weekend. I came home early. We hired some guys to come out, and remove a few trees from the yard. Took advantage of the time.

She sounds damn good! Much better!
