Antennae motor armature come out?

I have this motor for a 68’ Chrysler which is inoperable. In disassembly I noticed the armature was stuck, however can move with pliers but very hard. Seems to be a bind at the end where this plate is holding the armature. Should the armature be able to be completely removed from this plate (separated)?
