I love a well made "anything" including knives. A long time ago I saw a movie about the Sacket bros from the books by Louie Lamour. Tell Sacket played by Sam Eliot carried a large stag handled Bowie knife. When I saw that I was hooked. A couple months ago I started looking for something like it that I could make a nice custom sheath for and use as a display at trade shows. I bought one new a few weeks ago but when it arrived I saw it was made off shore. I don't hate imported goods but for the money I'll buy American if I can so I sent it back.
I found one today on Craigslist, 10" blade and 7" Stag Crown handle. It needs a good cleaning and a good sharpening but I'm happy. Now to design that sheath and find someone that can polish this blade for me.

I think knives are used to cut meat, butter I can spread with a stick. With that said there's nothing I can say bad about a good boom stick,

Hand made Bone Collector, stag handle bison rib eye steak medium rare, salt pepper, good beer. I always get weird looks when I go out for a steak dinner because I take my own knife. I hate restaurant knives, always dull, and cheaply made.

Here's how my cousin and I packed when we went on a long roadtrip to retrieve a '70 Runner when the weirdo insisted on being paid in cash to the tune of 22K.

While we are on the topic of old Chryslers, does anyone know a good source to get a 10" bayonet for a Springfield M1 Garand?

I'd check with gunbroker.com or of course the evil EBay

22K in cash? yeah I'd pack carefuly for that road trip too.

I used tah be 'til sombody walked thru' the door and walk off with most of the toyz. They got my 18" long folding hunter too THE SOB'Z. Only thing they missed waz the Case Buffalo that I'd installed Buffalo horn scales where the factory rose wood used tah be.

Looks more like you were doing a drug deal. How did it go down?

It was a moron middle man that was the problem. He misrepresented the car claiming how original it was and I started picking it apart a block away when I could tell that the FK5 was a variance color and that it had been repainted. Then the owner stepped in and gave an honest and compatable story to what was original and what had been done to it. The idiot that posted the car got anything over 20K and knew nothing of the car or any cars apparently, he just made up the typical used car sales, everything is golden bullshit, (Lying sack of $hit) routine.

I think he wanted cash to hide the fact that he was just a middle man, and didn't want the owner to know how much money that he took over the 20K. He was trying hard for 25K and with no consequences for misrepresenting a car he knew nothing about and didn't own... :elmer:

Luckily the car was very solid and was definitely worth the trip.
