anybody know how to get a G-D floor jack to lower?

always use caution and jackstands with floor jacks...gotta remember all that's holding them up is a little rubber washer and they can go...jackstands are your friend!
would borrow a floor jack and use it to get other out..use a piece of 2x4 to get extra hieght if needed

yup.....was just taking the car off the tire skates though, had no intention of getting under it. kept jogging it by turning the handle back and forth, she just lowered but the handle is turning really hard, something isn't right.

time to take a ride to relieve the stress this just caused me......will take a look @ the jack tomorrow.

BTW, welcome over, have seen ya posting on the dock for a while.

thanx kindly...guess it was only matter of time...been on a 70 -71 fury kick for last little while since l discovered them...how l missed these cars is beyond me so making up for missed time...
l basicly suck in everything l can find on the cars from pics to info and both sites have alota knowalgeble folks on c bodys plus lm rounding up alota nos parts right now and follow up any leads l can find..on a funny note have been through most everything 70-71 here and found a member here that had bought a 70 that l was eyeballin for longest time but passed on it due to lack of room with one in garage and two in storage...was neat car showed alota potential and had rare 3 on the tree..price was right to and car looked solid..shoulda bought it lol
remember jackstands are your friend

I had one stick like that once.

I used a small pipe wrench on the handle to crack it loose. I think it was a combination of getting tightened a little too tight and a little rust in the hole the handle went in.

went up fine, now it won't release to go back down, handle won't turn
Mark, some floorjacks have a seperate valve to lower. A shaft with a pin usually below the raise valve. is your jack handle hollow with a notch in one end....?
Never overtighten your floor jack handle if it is the twist type...... It can be hard to release once loaded.
