Does anyone know if the axle ratio is listed on the broadcast sheet? My 73 Fury III has two codes that I can read, 51, and 191. I believe the 51 or D51 is for the 8-1/4 rear end but what is the 191?

Head over to the "Library" section at www.hamtramck-historical.com and peruse the Dealer Order Guide for the axle ratio option code. Even if it might be standard and not optional, it still has a code. A code which is also on the under hood Data Plate, I believe.

On the Broadcast Sheet, you can notice there are two sections. One which has the option codes on it and another one which has the codes of the assemblies installed on the assy line (the last numbers thereof), from what I can figure out. In the option code area, the main part of the code is printed on the paper, with the digits in the blank cells maing the last digit of the total option code.

By the later 1970s, the broadcast sheets gained MORE color and also had all of the option codes printed on its backside.

You can download a Chrysler Parts Manual for your model year (hopefully) at www.mymopar.com . The Data Plate decode spaces are in the "INFO" section.

Thank you. I had went there before and found that the standard axle was a 2.71, but not sure if that’s what I have or not. I will check out the parts manual though.

On lines 2 thru 6 is there a box that says PIN? what is printed under there?

If it was an 8.75" rear end, a 2.76. If the lighter-capacity 8.25" (Dana 10 bolt) rear axle or larger 9.25" (Dana 12 bolt) rear axle, a 2.71. So a visual will be needed to see what is what.

1) The only reason this post is even possible is because someone recognized the value of the paperwork and made sure it was saved. This, along with some incredibly savory adult beverages, was passed on to me at Carlisle by a conscientious FCBO member. So, no thanks to me. All thanks and gratitude goes to HIM.

2) This is the VENDOR spreadsheet listing axle assemblies for MY 1973 and what the assembly consisted of. The 191 on the broadcast sheet are the last three digits of axle assembly 3507191. I've edited the sheet to only show the C body applications for that year. The sheet is populated with A, B, C and truck axle info.

AXLE 191 = 8.25 axle 63.4" track with a 2.71 ratio used in C bodies with a standard, or open, rear end with 11x2 brakes. The part numbers for components of that specific assembly are also listed.

Here's the take away = SAVE as much documentation, fender tags, broadcast sheets, window stickers, dealer info, and factory info as you can. EVERY piece of data is important in some way at some time. If you don't want or can't keep the info, please pass it on to someone who does want it.

Because the sheet was saved, the OP can get an accurate answer to the question backed by by vendor documentation.
