Well... The New Yorker's got a name. She's got about $1,600 worth of parts (putting the high school graduation money to GOOD use) on the way from Summit Racing, Basset Wheel, Champion Radiators, and Stock Interiors.com. Going to pull some late nights for the next few weeks and get this big dirty b***h rolling. I'll update as I go along

thats a good lookin car. read up on this forum about changing tires/wheels out, especially if you have skirts on.

unless you already bought wheels :)

Got a deal on some wheels via craigslist. 15x8 with 4.5 inches of back spacing. Got about 2 inches from the leaf and skirt respectively. 265/50 15 tire.

Rear end, wheels and tires, new studs and lug nuts installed. Honing the cylinders, new rings, bearings, cam, lifters, valve springs, valve seals, timing chain, oil pump, fuel pump, and headers this week. Next week is trans and swapping out power window mechanisms for some cranks off of doner Newport doors. Aaaaand who needs carpet and headliner until you can do burnouts. That's stuff can wait a while. Either way, really breaking in to the final assembly phase quite nicely. Please excuse any typos, it's almost 1 AM here in Kenosha and I just realized I work a 10 hour shift in about 5 hours. Gotta love this hobby, ey boys?

Oh to be young again.....Keep up the good work !

So true. I vagely remember pulling 24 hour shifts in the garage doing things that shouldn't be done.

Turning a nice C body into a burnout queen isn't my idea of how to do it, but..... Youth is wasted on the young. Ya gotta learn somehow.

Good luck with it. Keep us informed.

Got these wide *** tires for free through work, it'd be against my nature not to leave some marks around the tri-county area. This is going to be my daily driver for college so up until I leave for school in August, I plan on driving it like I stole it. I appreciate the compliments and the interest in the old girl either way!

I have to share a story with you.My buddy and I were 16/17 years old.He bought a 65 Fury 4 door with a 426 street wedge for $75.(Now a days the chrome valve covers cost more than the whole car)We smoked several sets of rear tires off in a few days......

I'm planning on doing that exactly...allegedly planning

LOL!

I have stories about me and my brothers doing funny car burnouts in the alley with Mom's bleach. I had 69 Super Bee and my brother had a 69 Dart GTS with a transplanted 440. This was happening 1971....

Build it the way you like it, theres no rule saying you cant..(even if there was do it anyways). You have a great car to start with.
