Hello all,
Sitting in an old semi trailer on our families business property, we have a 1967 Dodge Monaco, 2 dr Hardtop. My uncle had purchased it from a lady, but never registered it( We can't find any papers on it...). Ended up getting it impounded, and my late grandfather paid the fee and decided to store it until he could put some time into it, he never got around to it(he had another 4 dr Monaco, 2 dr Galaxie 500, 4dr Galaxie, '72 Mercury Cougar XR7 convertible, '74 Triumph Spitfire, '89 Lincoln Mk5. So he was busy ha!). It has been stored in this trailer since the late 80s-1990 I believe(the earliest memory I have of going to the "shop", that car was already in there, 1992). I've been scouring the internet to price this thing right "as is", as no one in our family has the knowledge or drive to get it operating and restored.

Odometer shows 1169.7 (assuming this turned over once)
White on White Leather Interior
Steering console shifter.
Fender Plate shows 383 V8 - 2 Bar Carb
3 Speed Auto.
Power Windows

Researching online tells me this isn't a 500, claims they usually had center consoles and 4 barrel carb.

Any information on how to price this car would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is searching for a barn find in Western Canada(3.5 hrs east of Vancouver, 2 hrs north of Oroville, Washington) that you know of. One of the tricky parts of the sale when it happens will be paperwork, I know a lot of people wont want to touch it, but if there are any Canadians out there that have gone through this process before, any information is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Tyler.

PP1 paint code is red. The paint on the tag is mostly worn off, but what remains looks like a dark paint, either black or dark green. The car is white. Maybe the tag isin't for the car?

w6 is Canadian car, at least the tag. Need to see a pic of the VIN. u1 is ordered car. 61 would be 383 2bbl. AM radio. 2.78 rear axle. Tire code 51 is different than my '67 Monaco (53).

A Monaco 500 trim code should start with P I think, ordinary Monaco starts with H. Monaco 500 would have the wide side lower trim. P6W would be Monaco 500 white interior? H6W would be standard Monaco white interior I guess.

Hmm the hood has a bit of chipped paint, and it is what i thought was red underneath, I thought it may be primer... maybe the whole car was painted. more mysteries to find out i guess. I'm going to take my leaf blower to it tomorrow to look a little further. will update on any finds and take some pictures inside the door jams and get VIN as well

You're going to have to get the car registered in your name, so you can sell it as a usable and drivable vehicle to someone else either in BC or the rest of Canada.

Have a look at this:

I'm curious about something. Can you own a vehicle in BC without having insurance on it? Everything I see about registering a vehicle in BC seems to involve ICBC - which is BC's auto insurance provider? Is there no BC dept of transportation that manages vehicle registrations? Also, can you find any old license plates for the car? Also, do you have they keys?

The lack of a third digit for the tire code, the w/6 code and 05 VON tells us this car was built at the Windsor plant.
The H6 interior code and w/6 indicates it was built for sale in Canada.

I do not know how it would have been badged there.

because it has bucket seats i would say its a monaco 500. you had the choice of a console shift or centre folding arm rest / buddy seat.
as @MoPar~Man says, the 500s had the wide lower body trim.....
nice it has the optional pass side mirror

heres a site that shows canadian sales brochures

That is a Windsor built Canadian Monaco 500.
Sport Fury bucket seats with armrest/ buddy seat standard fare.
The floor shifter/ console was optional.
Well optioned car with air conditioning, tilt/ tele steering, 383 2bbl was also optional over the Poly 318.

Out of 3540 Canadian Monaco 500's,
yours is one of 842 with the 383 2bbl.
One of 64 with tilt n tele!

As she sits probably 5500.00
When cleaned up, running driving worth 12k To 18k
I have been documenting Canadian 67 Monaco 500's as they are interesting breed. I have one myself..1 of 57 with 440.
Any questions pm me.
Hope this helps

Have to agree. DH23 is Monaco, DP23 is Monaco 500

In Canada, the 500 did use the DH23 for 1967.
Plain Canadian Monaco was DM23.

Two 67 Monaco 500's..
Both built in Windsor.
Mine sold new in British Columbia; DH23
THe other sold new in Michigan; DP23

Canadian cars sequential VIN number starts with a 3
American destined cars start with a 1
Last pic is both cars at the FCBO car show 2023
