I have not attempted to lower the top yet but would like to do so. It probably has not been operated in about four years. Is there anything I need to watch out for or lubricate before seeing if it will work? Also, what is the zipper for in the attached photo and does it need to be undone before trying to lower the top? Finally, how high does the top get during closure? I'm not sure if there is room in the garage or not.

I would also like to remove the rear seat. I recall on my Barracuda that the back lifted straight up and out and I think you pushed the bottom towards the trunk a bit and then it would lift out. Is it the same for the Fury? It looks like it might be a little different for the convertible.

Thanks!

The zipper is for the rear window. Don't unzip it... You may break the window if it folds up wrong. Speaking of breaking the window, make sure there's nothing in the trunk where the top folds into.

I'd just go ahead and try it. If it doesn't work, go from there. Just take it easy etc.

The back seat comes out by first removing the bottom. Push it down and back to unclip it. The seat back will be bolted at the bottom on each side to brackets coming up from the floor. Unbolt, and pull straight up and off the hooks.

Oh yea.. just watch the top as it goes up to see if it clears. You can stop it if it's going to hit. How high is the ceiling?

Also take a look at the rams and make sure the chrome on the shafts doesn't have any rust on them, if they do they will tear the seals up when it retracts, I had to leave my fury top up because of this reason.

Thank you! Good tip on the rams. I looked and there is some rust. I'll try to clean them up with fine steel wool and lubricate them before operating it. Yes, there are only remnants of the top so the rear window is not in it. I do have it though.

When and if you do replace the top with a new glass window, check the clearance of the back seat. I see the boot trim molding is pulled away and in the way of the top frame. I shattered the glass on my Challenger vert after someone sat on the top of the back seat and bowed it slightly in to the path of the window.

I'm having trouble getting the bottom cushion out. Does it unclip at the back or the front? Thx.

The clips for the seat bottom are at the front. Push down on the front of the seat at the front, and push hard toward the rear at the same time. The clips are welded to the floor and are notched, and face toward the rear of the car. You will have to do it at both sides. The seat back is held on by two bolts at underneath the bottom, and clips at the top. Once unbolted, it should just lift straight up.

Thanks. I must be too weak because I can't get the damn thing to budge. I'll eventually have to take the front seat outs so maybe I can get better leverage then.
