Battery needed...

Regardless of where you get those Mopar restoration batteries I bet they are from the same supplier.

Get a starter for a 92 dodge ram has the nose locater/ register and all you will be so happy with it those old heavy stock ones you'll be kicking to the curb. Go get one from a salvage yard with wire attached change the contact points in it and it will probably outlast the car.

Yeah you can go up to a 96 w a 5.9 out of a dodge ram bolts right in i was amazed myself! Couldn't fund a used one locally but napa charged me 92 bucks for a brand new if i remember. and you have to search for agm on theyre site to pull up the agm batteries.

Wow, I didn't know that and paid before returning the mini close to $250. I will buy a new one for a 96. How about that, learn something new everyday. Thanks guys.

Or, if you want the correct look, you can go with one of these:

These are the finishing touch on a restored engine bay. Mike: Are you listening? LOL!

Yes I have looked at these Scott. I have decided anything that can be easily changed out later to make it factory correct and is being held off until next year. My gold Duralast will do for now, but don't worry it will be changed out.

You would be proud of what you have done to me Scott. I checked out the site you listed and e-mailed another one with no prices about their battery. They had the same price but they make a repo of the negative battery cable that is period correct that I am ordering.

If you are willing to settle for a group 24 battery, you can put a fake top on it.

I wouldn't bother... and I did the resto battery once.... and that was once too many.

The engineering of the restoration batteries has changed in recent years, they are not the battery that was sold years ago.

Unless you are doing a #1 restoration why mess with anything besides a good modern battery? My .02

Read the Axion battery site. http://www.turbostart.com/

They are modern batteries. The first one I bought was for the convertible, it lasted me more than 7 years when last year the case developed a crack at the positive terminal. These batteries are VERY good.
As previously mentioned no point in them on a modified vehicle

Marine batteries are rated at 32°F and car batteries at 0°F.

MCA v. CCA. It may not make a lot of difference, but an 800 MCA isn't as strong as 800 CCA. Marine batteries are built better.. thicker plates etc. for vibration resistance. I've never seen them cheaper though.

i have 2 optima red tops. the first i bought in 2003 at Costco for like $135.oo used it two years in my streetrod when i sold it i switched it out and has been in my basement sump pump battery backup since. 2nd one i bought in 05 for my daily driver had it in there till 2011 when i bought the wagon switched to the wagon and until 2 weeks ago worked great. i went to start the wagon and was completly dead. i brought it home put on trickle charge for 4hrs and recharged completly . it's sitting in the garage now with a battery tender hooked up and it's holding a full charge. i am definately sold on them. Costco was the cheapest place i found them.

Good to know. Thanks. I'm gonna go to Advanced to see what they offer or maybe even try the Everstart MAXX that Walmart offers. 1000 cca battery.

Order the battery from Advance Auto Parts on line....you can save $40-$50 and still pick it up in the store 5 minutes later and/or have them install it for you.
