Right, so I got a '66 Fury III with a 318 poly and A745 3spd on the column and I may have a line on a A833 with no history and no bellhousing. Would the 833 bolt up to my bellhousing?

Depends on your bell housing.
The 3 spd.and 4 spd have different bolt patterns.
There's 3 bell housings. One ea. dedicated for ea. tranny and there was a dual pattern bell housing.
The dual pattern may be a /6 ONLY bell housing but I am not sure.
I wouldn't think you would have the dual pattern bell housing on your poly SB.
Regardless, grab that tranny.
We'll figure out later on how to get it to mate.
ALSO, on the 4 speeds, there are several sizes of bearing retainers so that will affect whether or not it will bolt up to any particular bell housing. Retainers can usually be swapped out or machined, though.

In summary, Doubtful.

Yeah I'm gonna try to get it no matter but was just hoping for a resounding YES. Claims he's got a poly 4bbl and auto buried in his barn and covered with wasps.....trying to overcome my fear of bees now......

He doesnt know but he claims the yoke is in it. Figured I'd end up having to get a driveshaft made anyway

Yokes are swappable.
But don't commit to buy until you know which tail shaft it is.

He doesnt know but...
Hmmm... Caution!
He may have picked it up cheap cuz it's trashed.

Why? Just the lengths are different, arent they? He only wants 150 for it but I gotta go to maryland to get it.

Ahhhhh, ok. Yeah that makes sense. Crap, I really like my bench seat since I covered it too. ugh

One more little bit of information, the first 4spd made in 1963 has a trunion on the back of it and looks just like an a833 but is in fact a T10 gearbox and isnt as good.

Heres a fun scenario....the motor and transmission is complete and in a broken down van full of hornets in the woods. Guy wont part out so gotta figure a way to get it out and on a truck......grounds too soft to roll a hoist around and cant get a flatbed to it. Anyone got a helicopter I could borrow??? ugh all I want is the intake and linkage!

Yeah I remember that from when I had my Polara. I'm waiting for pictures to make sure
