Hello fellow Moparians!

I recently purchased this “Body Bumper Kit” to replace some of the brittle/missing ‘bumpers’ under the hood.

The parts I needed for the hood were easy to figure out. I even figured out which parts were for the doors (apparently 3 out of 4 of my door bumpers were missing…. The 4th one was just barely there).

My question to all of you smart people is if you know where the rest of these smaller ones go?

2 body plugs
2 larger cylindrical
3 medium cylindrical
2 small, rounded
1 “T” shaped

I have a parts catalog that I am looking through now, but figured I’d ask here as well.

TIA

Ironically, the parts catalog doesn’t show these under hood bumpers for the Chrysler, but they are the same as the ones shown for the Imperial.

I couldn’t find a reference to the door bumpers I replaced either. The catalog seems to be hit and miss with these little parts.

If anyone knows where those other bumpers go, please do share.

The little tiny ones look like glove box door bumpers. Also do you have a fuel door license plate? Bumpers on there as well. Then for the trunk lid. Sorry going off my’68.

What you don't use at first, put them in a zip lock bag and put them in the trunk. Sooner or later, you'll find where they go or determine they are not needed on your vehicle.

Enjoy!

@HWYCRZR thank you again for pointing me in the right direction. The small round ones were indeed for the glove box.

On closer inspection too, the cylindrical ones had reproduction part numbers on them and I was able to confirm they were for the trunk lid and license place.

Here’s some pics:

I am not placing that one. What door or opening is there only one of? Console ashtray. I don’t recall anything like this on my Polara and my ashtray doesn’t have bumpers.

Might just be a mystery to be solved for another day. Like @CBODY67 suggested, I will hang on to it until some day it reveals itself (or not).

What I am stoked about is I originally bought this kit for the hood bumpers. I didn’t even know I was missing all those other ones. My doors and trunk have never felt/sounded more ‘tight’ when closing. They always seemed to rattle a bit and I thought that was just the way it is with a nearly 60 year old car.

This was $40 very well spent!

Thanks agin for your help.

It’s almost like it loops around something. The small bottom T may go through the hole in the middle to secure it. You will find it someday.

Just in case someone stumbles across this thread, this is the kit I bought:

The “4 door only” part is that it comes with 8 door bumpers, instead of 4 (2 per door). It also has 3 license plate door bumpers,
But my ‘68 300 only had holes for 2.

Now this leaves me left with the single T shaped one. No numbers printed on this one.

The rubber part in the image is the clutch pedal upper stop bumper. Chrysler number is 1940147 for C-bodies. It was also used on some power steering pump brackets, 1960-1968. A/B/E-bodies plus light duty trucks used a similar bumper, Chrysler part number 2266820.

Well I’ll be…. Thank you @Vaanth !

Any chance you have a picture of one installed on a power steering pump?
