Bought another Mopar today...

Great buy Nick. Glad you found one, seems like fate. Some mechanical items and some body work, no problem for you.

Love the blue, great color.

I just ended up with the deal falling through when we couldn't come up with a fair number for both of us on a friends aunts truck which is a 98 Intense blue 4x4 5.9L quadcab ram with 175k kms on it....last number I through our was $3800........Needless to say I began my search again last Thursday with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth....I found this truck for sale in a terribly described ad with bad pictures....I decided to take a chance and go and look at it on Sunday despite Magdalenes displeasure at it.

Last thing I was told was "don't sit in the drivers seat and think, every time you do that you come home with another vehicle"

I sat behind the wheel with the keys in my hand and the knowledge that the truck hadn't been started since November.......it fired right up for me and ran as smooth as glass......

After checking it out underneath closely and taking it for a quick drive, we talked change.....he started at $1800.....i left with the ownership and keys for $400.....

I'll agree with fate...

What year is that 00-01 that would be decent if it has tow package. They are good flatlander trucks.
I have a whole 98 sport here you can have for free if you want. The tail gate is good.
Its a 2001. It doesn't have the tow package but has the HD package which when I got the dealer to run the VIN comes back as giving it the Off road package springs and swaybar, the tow package rad and coolers and the HD shocks.

It does have a receiver on it and I'll have to look into it more as it may have the wiring and everything as well.

I wish you were closer I would take that 98 in a heart beat and bring you a case of brews for your trouble.
Too bad it wasn't the 5.9 Cummins diesel; still a good deal you got there.
The Cummins trucks in my area have a cult following a 98 single cab 4x4 Cummins sells on average for around $7-12 thousand depending on the mileage and body condition.......

I prefer gas engine trucks anyway...
Can't believe Dodge had the balls to chargeb$1215 for that POS trans.

Yep it has the 46RE......but it has the crispest shift I've ever felt in a 2nd gen dodge.

If it has the 3.55 gears either get into the habit pushing the OD off button every time you pull it out of park or better fix is cut the orange wire in the 11 pin on the B connector and put it on a switch to kill the converter lock up. I would love to meet the group that came up with the electronic govenor software and convince them they should not be in the car biz.

I've been looking for a 4x4.....I've looked at a ton of 2nd gen Rams...

I bought this one this morning. Most I looked at were high mileage, rusty. With 318s and they still wanted $2000-$3000......I bought this one for $400 off the original owner.....it has the 5.9L and 135xxx kms. It's the "Intense blue" and a Sport package....two things that I began to fall in love with during my search....

The outside of the body is crusty......but underneath is perfect....mechanically it needs a set of injector o rings, a fuel rail, some gas tank straps and a cable for the transfer case shifter as it's sticky to shift.....

The tow truck that dropped it off got stuck going up the hill......so...

The truck that towed mine ended up being towed up the hill by my truck......truth be told I didn't realize he stopped when we got to the top and I dragged him another 50 feet.....

The Sport is a keeper...
