A FREAKING ROYAL PAIN IN THE ***.BTW, the 77 and 78 Formal boosters are interchangeable. The 74-76 formal boosters are interchangeable. I don't know why the 74-76 won't interchange with the 77-78. Maybe Mr. C knows why. I do know that the boosters are a pain in the *** to change. I found it was a lot easier to remove the front seats to get to the booster. Might be able to do it without removing the seats if you have a tiny wife or a strong 12 year old around.
I am bummed, I bought a 77 New Yorker for a parts car and was going to have the booster from that rebuilt for my 76. But if the '77 booster won't work now I will have to have the wagon down during the whole shipping , rebuilding, shipping process.BTW, the 77 and 78 Formal boosters are interchangeable.
