Roger Waters ruins Pink Floyd shows with his Political bs. He had a giant shrinking penis on the screen last round. So much for bringing the kids. Never again.

Yeah, I didn't need to hear any crap about politics when I attended his concerts, glad I ignored it. The sound was clear each time I saw him, although round one of his The Wall tour kinda sucked performance-wise. Didn't bother the next year, which was better.

I saw Gilmore and company at the Metrodome in the mid 90's, and as fun as it was, the sound sucked. Waters was missing from that show, and you could tell.

I seen a Roger Waters (I believe was the Wall concert) special on TV HBO and I was shocked with all the political bs rhetoric.

I did see David Gilmour play in the Garden in NYC in 2016. It was a killer concert! You can definitely tell he was 70 years old. I wish I could play that good!!!

I have seen Roger Waters every time he has come to town. Which is basically every solo tour since Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. The best by far was his Wall tour the only one he did inject his politics in the show. His sound has been excellent once he quit trying to sing any of Gilmour's parts.

What I find interesting is he has never actually spoken in concert about politics in the last few concerts I have seen him in, it was all done through video with his music, which has left no doubt in where he stands politically. Now I live in a Red state and maybe he speaks about it in LA or Boston, but not in Columbus, OH.

I have VIP Soundcheck passes for Brit Floyd that was suppose to play May 22nd in Baltimore but they postponed the concert last week. Kind of pissed me off! First row right in front. Not cheap seats.... these were $186 a piece which is a lot for a Brit Floyd concert. This was the rescheduled concert from 2020 and then they postponed it. I can get a refund but I need to hear some great live music soon!

See that's the problem, concerts really went down hill when these (I'm better than you) VIP sections started showing up. When rock concerts were real most all where general admission and if you wanted your preferred viewing section you showed up early. I don't think Rogers 2022 (if) tour VIP tickets are much more than $186, but from someone that was against the escalation of ticket prices when they started to rise above $50 around the turn of the century and railing on about 'Pigs' from someone that's worth 300 million is kind of a oxymoron eh? You can still get the "This Is Not A Drill tour" (maybe his last) nosebleed seats in the $40 to $60 dollar range.
Still one of the best Audio & Visual Multimedia Shows on Earth, made U2 up their game...

I can't believe people that 'Go To The Show' and know nothing about the band, like the poster that commented about putting the 8-Track in and playing Money over and over again, talk about sheep... PF has been railing on about the war machine and politics pretty much since Syd left the band.

The 1980 Wall concert at the Nassau Coliseum (enclosed) had some reverberation off the ceiling which kind of sucked, and we had pretty good (bootleg) Loge seats. My girlfriend snuck down onto the floor and recorded it, all in all it was a good show but it's best to see them in a open air stadium where they can crank it up.
When I went to the 1977 Tampa show friends of ours that were late to the party (we were center field at noon) couldn't get in but said the sound in the parking lot was just fine for them. That show or back then you could hear the concert for almost a mile away. In some areas of the country when the sprawl was increasing stadiums would get noise complaints especially if the show would go past midnight. Oh the daze...

The giant shrinking penis was at the St Paul show a few years ago. The hypocrisy of playing the song pigs and making fun of greedy people while charging $1200+ for 4 seats far away from the stage was not lost on me.

I happen to agree that PF without Roger Waters influence on the band is pretty lame. Roger became the lyricist and visionary behind the band's music after the death of Syd Barrett, and it is no coincidence that the band completely changed direction, beginning with Dark Side. (Who remembers a Saucerful of Secrets or Atom Hart Mother anyway???) After Roger Waters quit, they ran out a couple of duds to fulfill their contract to their label, and disappeared from sight. I have to admit though that David Gilmour's solo albums easily topped Waters' efforts after the break up. Like many big ticket bands, the sum of the parts was greater than the whole. CG

Syd didn't die until 2006 IIRC. Syd came up with the name for the band and would of had rights to it but nothing was on paper. Gilmour was first put in as a 'Temp' hoping to get Syd back on track, that didn't work out and David got a big head. PF lost almost all their money in the late 70's do to mis-management and promoters ripping them off, ie 66k in reported ticket sales but the aerial shots of the stadium shows 90k+ in attendance LOL. PF was one of the first bands where all money was split equal among members and what irked Roger was that he was the main content creator as Mason, Wright, and mainly Gilmour were not contributing to the song material (Lyrics) and were just acting like session musicians.

There is a reason why you don't let a lead guitarist or for that matter a drummer control a band, what you get is just long guitar & drum solos and the end result is 'Bland Floyd'. Did you know that David's wife wrote all the lyrics to Division Bell?

In the end Syd Barrett passed away worth $1.7 million dollars so I guess being a true friend Roger got what he wanted in the end.

I was finally notified that Brit Floyd has been rescheduled for April 7, 2022. That's OK, I can always catch another show close by until then.

I do realize that Gilmour's then girlfriend or fiance shared the writing credits of almost all the songs on the Division Bell, but many made the argument that a woman's contribution to the ideas and themes behind the album was a positive one. No it wasn't just a contribution she was the sole creator of the lyrics and just didn't want credit on the album at all to stay out of the media controversy that was going on. She is a author of books(?) novels(?) children books(?), story teller she is, she fessed up to this in a interview lately and implied too it in a interview way back in 2015.
Something like at one time they needed lyrics to meet a deadline and she was sick and in her ill mutterings David wrote down what she was saying and when she read it after she was better, that David got it all wrong. LOL I think she says she writes the lyrics in her head as she's going for a walk listening to the final tracks on her headphones. Roger admitted David couldn't write lyrics to save his life, the band back then (all members) countered back with there is no pleasing Roger. But Roger is the maestro and was just trying to keep with the original content creator Syd's ideas.

Granted some of the shows Roger did were kind of blasé especially when he got booed up in Virginia railing on about Bush. I thought so too when I viewed the Coachella Concerts(?) Desert Trip I think it was called, yea you got the nice big wall screen Roger but the view is obscured by the hanging speaker towers (wtf) and when did Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun grow saxophones?
That show was a first good 720p show on YouTube rivaling the Candlestick Park very well edited multishot iPhone fan vid of Wall Version 2 and the multicam U2 Vegas show, but I thought one of the YouTube fan comments was very appropriate at the time. heh

Bad sound. Bad rent-a-band. Roger is old. Nice try. Largely wasted money.
To bad Gilmour wasn't helping. But Nick and David are beyond Roger actually.
The few regular musicians weren't at it either. And the SJW rant is so not there.
Everyone came for fun but Roger drags.
(Next show = no paid for nightmare.) Just a few million more $$ and Roger might be able to make good on the years of therapy.
So keep paying folks. Compassion pays the payer too.
