Sorry, hit an old thread but hafta reply either for the OP of for those that read this down the road and wants to retrofit modern seats.
Many years ago I put a very similar set of buckets in my 70 SF (the original buckets were just starting to split slightly and I wanted to save them).
The seats I had were from a 95-ish GP or Olds Cutlass (the FWD car).
It was easier said than done - IIRC there was at best 1 hole that aligned between the seat and the floor, so most of them needed to be drilled (sorry, Stan!). Each hole then was on a different plane, so each mtg location required a different height spacer to level the seat. Was an all-day job, probably.
But the seats were a nice upgrade and made the car a bit nicer to drive, and the PSeat helped with that.
Yes, wiring for such things should be sensibly upgraded, ideally with stand-alone fuses, relays, etc to be independent/isolated from the original car wiring.

Well guys, I am back after a very difficult stretch health wise.I almost sold the '68 twice, but I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.I am back to about 50% strength, but feel better every day.I wanted to bring back this thread since I picked up a set of more correct bucket seats for this car.I believe they are out of a 1966 300 or Imperial.Please let me know if I am wrong on that.Complete, but very dry and some dents in the trim.The driver side is power and the passenger side is full recline with the adjustable headrest.Not bad for $100.I have them disassembled and ready to clean...I am going to try some Lexol cleaner I guess.There is an old-school trimmer in town I am going to take them to and see if they can be repaired.Does anyone know if a '66 Imp back seat would fit in a '68 Newport?
I found pieces of the broadcast sheet in the drivers seat that confirmed that these seats came out of a green 1966 300 2-door. I sent an email to Legendary to confirm that their covers would fit this type of seat and got some bad news! The all vinyl covers for the reclining seats ...part# AA66CMR0010(C) is no longer available at all. This style is only available in vinyl/cloth or leather at much greater cost unfortunately. Does anyone know if the covers for the non-reclining seats will work?
Your seats look like they are leather. . . Is that accurate?
I thought they were too, but the material is very thin and has a cloth backing.Is there a way to tell for sure?
Well. . . Between the fender tag and the build sheet, you should be able to tell if it came with a leather interior. BTW: Is that all thats left of your build sheet ?
Oh. . . And another thing: There may be another broadcast sheet under the cushion of the bottom of the back seat. That is where I found mine.
