You found some great looking cars, the wheel and tire combo can sure make or break the whole look.

I learned that early on in my love affair with the "Iron". Wheels/tires are trans-formative (good or bad) for a car/truck. Its something most folks notice right away .. like other obvious exterior features such as color, body lines, size, etc -- when they see a vehicle.

Thanks for participating in this thread :)

I spotted it for wheels and tires .. then discovered .. wow!

Cool car. not my first choice for wheels, but an easy style to toss some OEM centers onto -- that would spice it up for cooler look.

Well finally got 100 votes, a little over a month. Though the survey runs another month, i don't foresee much change in it. It looked like this after the first three days and never really changed.

Unless we get hacked by Iran, and then "non-members" can vote, then CNN picks up the story, and then Wolf Blitzer is doing a "WTF is up with FCBO?" interview with Joey/Bryan in the Situation Room :D:)

I feel sorta confident more of our members think wheel/tire variety on our C's is OK. People can (and they will, no matter what we think as individuals) "personalize" their C's as they see fit. I for one expected that but not by that big a margin.

My personal guesses at thread inception were, top to bottom:

Q1: 45% - OEM look only
Q2: 10% - OEM wheels/aftermarket tires only
Q3: 5% - anything BUT the factory pieces
Q4: 49% - I'll tell ya after I see it.

I didn't get any "right" as there is no "right" answer for unscientific surveys (e.g where people can vote more than once, so you get more than 100% vote total) but was way off on a couple of things.

I thought questions 2 and 3 together would NOT get to 15%, let alone 27% together and that didnt happen. I also thought questions 1 and 4 would be closer, but Question 4 would have highest percentage, and that did happen but way beyond my guess.

I looked for a "monster truck" C body .. never found one. Its cool if somebody did one/likes that ... I just didnt find ONE and expected they'd be more common.

End of day, I think we still love the cars themselves .. no matter what shoes they're wearin' and as long as tire-changing machines still exist.

Thoughts?

Sure, I always have an opinion... not that it matters...

Thanks for this thread, it has been fun to watch... sometimes a little painful. I don't think sample size will move your numbers very much from here. Wheels are a great way to add individuality to your car, always have been... I dislike most that get too crazy away from factory sizes, but that's me.

Funny thing is, I have seldom changed out wheels on my personal stuff. If they were in good functional condition and of a suitable size... I almost always had bigger priorities and I have always been more about the function than the look.

Thanks to my time here and enjoying the ones I see when I get out... I really like my factory roadies, but I'm even more glad to have factory wheel covers for when I decide the roadies are getting too common.

Back in my younger days of "fixer-uppers" the first thing i did with a car was pick up a set of road wheels through "Tradin Times". Amazing the difference those wheels made to a used Satellite or Charger.
