C-Pillar trim?

Barrel nuts. Just do it.

Yeah, Ive tried to locate them locally, but can't. I also have to measure the posts on the trim to know what size I need. Local hardware stores around here suck! Even auto parts stores don't have them. Mark is going to send me templates so I can get the right position of the holes before I attempt drilling any holes in the car. I thought is was going to be a simple install, but it isn't.

This may sound silly but try Home Depot or Lowes in their hardware section where they have all those draws filled with clips and connectors. It's worth a shot.Ace Hardware stores seem to have a good selection of things. At worst, you can always use a few dabs of good old silicone to get the molding to adhere, but make sure it's fully dried before you use it.

Thank you. I tried ACE hardware,.but I will try Home Depot or Lowes. I was even thinking of cutting off the posted and using 3m tape, but I don't want them to fall off after a while.

As mentioned before........ these folks carry the barrel clips....

You might also try an older, established body shop. Hardware stores just won't carry them.

Took me all of about three minutes to find these, ....... You guys need to get more creative with your search engines. It's just not that hard to find this stuff.....

I found the same you did online. I just wanted to find them locally if I could.

Don't cut off the posts, they give the piece stability from movement when mounted.Drill out your holes and then use epoxy or maybe some clear silicone if you don't use those barrel nuts.

I won't cut the posts. I'm waiting on Mark to send me the templates. If that works, I'll do what you said and use the barrel clips. If not, I'm going to attempt to pull the sections of headliner so I can get in there. It's that measuring 10 times thing and drill once thing that's holding me back!! LOL.

Those barrel nuts are all over the net.
Why does everyone go to HD a/o AZ first and then give up???

I bought a box of 50 for cheap money. I'll always have them when I need it.

I agree ....... why would one drive all over town, checking with the local chain suppliers for an obscure trim clip that hasen't been used on automobiles in over 35 years ............ ????

Must be that need for instant gradification ........ Damm kidds. :head_smack:

We live in a world where we've become accustomed to getting our parts yesterday. No one likes to wait for the mailman to arrive! Those are days of the past! LOL On the other hand, usually if you order stuff online they're pretty quick these days and you get the small stuff within 3-4 days, but not always.

Thanks guys. I just have one issue an that's measuring correctly to drill the holes form the outside. It's going to be really difficult to line up the trim at the right place without the holes!! I have the push on nuts that came with the trim. I'm going to give it a shot by remover the c pillar trim and side panel inside the car. Then I can just re-drill the holes once I can see them. Or maybe I can use cardboard to make a pattern of the c pillar trim for the hole locations so I can drill them from the outside.

That's probably going to be the safest thing to do. Punch the pieces you have now through a piece of cardboard and while it's nested against the back, trace the outline and cut it out. Then you've got a template for both sides of the car. The moulding you have on the right side of the roof does look OE, so the pieces you've acquired may sit on top of that.

I hear everything everyone is saying and I did find them on the net the first day this thread started. Like I said, I was trying to find them locally, since I'm only 1/4 mile from HD, lowes and also automotive parts houses. LMAO,.if I would have ordered them when I started this thread, I would have had them by now! So, I looked around a little and came up with nothing. Now I will order them from the net..! I wasn't in a rush at all, just wanted to look around first as I really don't need 100 different size barrel clips just to sit on my shelf for 10 years without being used. I need 4!

Thank you. The trim that was on both sides that's on the right side still is that chrome 3m stick on trim. It's not OE at all. It's wired, I'm guessing when the PO had the car painted and the new top put on, they decided to replace all the body trim with this stick-on trim. Even the trim that runs from the front of the car to the rear is the same type. I'd like to find a good original set of side trim and put it back on. Check out the picture.

Have you tried your local automotive paint supply stores for those barrel clips. Some of them will carry them.I believe you probably have an Albert Kemperle Auto Paint Supply store somewhere up there. That would be your best bet in finding them locally. If not maybe try googling for local restoration shops in your area and they may just give you the 4 clips you need for next to nothing.
