Hi everybody

who of you owns a 1969 or 1970 Chrysler New Yorker, Newport Custom or 300 2dr or 4dr HT WITHOUT a vinyl roof but WITH accent stripe (V7_)? I would love to see how far up the accent stripe goes on the C-pillar.

I know how far it goes on New Yorker V-roof cars (both og paint), but that's it. Any help would be appreciated, because then @Fredrik Scheffer can recreate the rear part of the accent stripes on his 1969 2dr HT New Yorker.

Definitely "Hurst-specific" as normal Chrysler stripes were 1 or 2 stripes.

Perhaps it might be "Salvage Yard Tour" time to investigate the stripes on non-vinyl roof NYers?

You got my curiosity up so I found this survivor. Appears it fades away about halfway up the pillar. So much more attractive sans vinyl top IMHO but seems 90%+ of buyers felt otherwise. Hurst designers got it right!

I just spent some time in the "Links" section of www.eatondetroitspring.com. For the vehicle selected in the "Find Your Spring" menus, the "Link" is to the appropriate sales brochure.

Seems that many of the non-vinyl roof cars and the vinyl roof cars had their stripes BELOW the door handle and were straight, front to rear. Many had no stripes, too.

FWIW,

That is very interesting @PH27L7! In 1969 V7 was not available on Newport and Town & Country, bu I have no idea if that changed for 1970. But this stripe looks similar to my friend's 1969 Newport Custom. Would love to the the fender tag of the white car!

The stripes you are referring to, are option V6 "Longitudinal Stripes", @CBODY67.
