There are recurring threads on cam bearing install issues (one example; Issues with cam bearings and clearances. Cam will not fit. ) - This tool kit (don't know cost but it looks pricey!) talks about those problems (they are real and frequent, even for seasoned machine shops) and offers a solution. I've been enjoying the videos from JAMSI for some time and feel they really know what they are doing.

I was in trade school in the late 70's. My engine teacher, Mr. Gommel, told us, "If you need to do cam bearings, come see me first. It is VERY easy to do them wrong". I have yet to do any, but I would be VERY careful to get it right. I doubt Mr. Gommel is still around.
 
That cam bearing bare tool cost more than the motor lol.

I hate the rubber sleeve style that nearly every vendor is pushing these days, but a plain solid shaft with the proper size mandrels for your given engine puts them in smoothly without beating on anything too hard. Speedway Motors had (had) a good one reasonable for Mopars
