Cam Identification?

I pulled this camshaft from a 68' Dart w/440 ci. It was running, however for my taste, was a sloppy presentation of an engine bay, engine, overheating issues, etc. Anyway, trying to figure out this purple cam. The engine builder is suggesting it is an idle-5,800 rpm cam. It has numbers stamped on the end. I cannot seem to find anything to match in Mopar numbers. There is a CAA 21-672-4 for sale locally at a very reasonable price, however seller has about 11 hg of vacuum at idle with this cam. Not enough for power brakes. Any comments are appreciated.

Measure the lobe lift, multiply by 1.5. Now you have actual lift. Compare to the chart of purple shaft cams.

The original Purple Shaft cam was the 426HEMI grind, 284/284 .48_" lift. Other than measuring the lobe lift, you can chunk it back into a block, add two lifters and pushrods, timing chain set. Then put a degree wheel on the crank and measure the duration with a dial indicator for max lift.

I mention "original Purple Shaft" as they are now selling a complete line of "Purple Shaft" cams that are NOT related to the original cam at all.

Never have known of the stampings on the camshaft ends to have any de-codes in the factory parts books or wherever. But they probably identify the cam grinder (under contract), timing event profiles, and when machined, IF those de-codes could be found.
