Can it be determined what vehicle my block came from?

Not that it matters so much, doing a complete rebuild, just wondering since it has the numbers, it's a 69 383 says 12 172 with an R on the pad and the lower side numbers are CL23G9F 187893, has 906 heads but getting ready for an upgrade, thanks for any info. Jim Probably the wrong forum, please adjust if necessary

The "right side numbers" listed are the first part of the VIN, with the last part being the last part of the VIN, looks like. Might it match the vehicle you have?

No match, this a bastard combination done years ago that I'm currently undoing. A 59 Dodge had this 69 383 but with the original 8-bolt flange 361 crank to mate with the original 466 trans, having the whole thing rebuilt with a 68 383 crank and a 62 727 so I can keep the push buttons and the tailshaft drum brake. The 59 Custom Royal came with a 361 originally.

Yes., it came from CL23G9F187893; a 69 Newport 383-2bbl built at the Newark plant.
