Carlisle 2020 Official Thread

So what is the definition of modified?
C- body- 3 modifications or less and C-body modified 4 modifications or more.
What is considered a modification in this case? My assumption is mine would fit in the non modified class.
Non-factory wheels -1
Non-factory dual exhaust -1
Non-factory paint colors or silly stripes (sorry @ayilar :poke:) -1
Non-factory under hood pieces -1
Era correct aftermarket parts -1, unless really cool, then +1
Stuff nobody can prove +1

Unless you went for the flame paint job or mini tubs, most of our cars will fit in. If you have a SBC or side pipes, go to the corvette show instead. :D
The C Body Modified class IS in the C Body row(s).
:thankyou: I didn't realize that. I refuse to ever register with the Imperial crowd. Hell some years I don't even find them.

Hey, don't blame me, blame the previous owner. I won't fix the paint till I am ready for the proper job. I asked @david hill about who did the superb paint job on his car, but after learning about the details and talking to someone else who used the same person (and got similarly beautiful results but also had a similar experience), I decided to keep looking for somebody more local to Medina.

This said, in order to not offend your (and @fc7_plumcrazy's) sensitivities, I won't bring Medina to Carlisle next year. :pMaybe she and @amazingblue82's newly acquired GE7 can jointly drive to Carlisle in 2021 for the 1971s' 50th birthday reunion? :wideyed:

No prob. Just say it was a “Dealer Installation” or paint job.
You know, like all those “Dealer Installed” Shaker Hoods” in the E body aisle.:drama:

Well, maybe I could borrow four dog dishes from @71Polara383 and bring her in looking like this? (photo courtesy Wyatt)

Or maybe I ought to wait till 2021, after she's been properly repainted in the original GY9 Dark Gold (aka Tawny Gold at your friendly Chrysler/Plymouth dealer)?

:drama:

I think I've seen that route somewhere...
I remember you posted coming thru here on hwy 2 then running across the U.P. but I really didn't realize you were also going past Niagara Falls - wifey's never been, (nor have I), so it seemed like a good time.

You need to go to Niagara Falls. Canadian side to stay and eat. American side for the park. Do the Cave of the Winds on the US side and ride the tram around to the different islands and spots on the falls. Do the Maid of the Mist from either side.

American side is more park like, but the local town is kinda rough. Beautiful park though. Canadian side is more touristy, but nice.

Hey Bill. 1, clean out your pm box, it's full, or 2, please pm me your number as I could only find your old Middletown number. Steve I'm in Lake Wiley thru Wed. and heading home Thursday.

So @Polara_500 & @300rag
I have been looking further at this Northern route (HWY2) For those that have been across there any suggestions on good stopping points?
Am originating in Fargo. I will hit Hwy 2 at Duluth MN.
In mapping it out I may leave Fargo Monday Midday and hit Duluth 4 hr 23. I nor my wife have been there, so maybe overnight there and do some late afternoon or next morning sight seeing in Duluth.
Tuesday Duluth, MN to St. Ignatius or Mackinaw City, MI 7.5 hours.
Wednesday Mackinaw City, MI to Niagara Falls Ontario, 7 hours, Evening at the Falls, Morning at the Falls.
Thursday, Niagara Falls Ontario to Mechanicsburg PA 5.5 hours
Any suggestions on must see's or must stops would be great.
Some might say it is aggressive, but 8 hours of driving leaves 4 hours of sight seeing per day.

The only time I've been that way was on the way back from Carlisle a couple years ago - and that was the way back so we were all about getting home asap. There are some cool sights along the way, but we came north from Flint to catch hwy 2, this time we're not heading south so early.

Hi guys; I'm going to bring the MAX again. I am also set up at H89 in the flea market down the street from Craig Stanley who is a must see. I'm going to have '64-'67 Imperial, '69-71 and '77 C Body. Also, I might have a pair of '55 Dodge convertible quarters with me. I am staying at the Econo Lodge off I-283 in Harrisburg. 10 minutes or so up I-81 and a bunch cheaper. Stop by and say hi. I can usually talk about any Mopar up to about 1980 for 5 minutes without sounding like an idiot!

Not many hotels in St Ignace. Plenty on the Mackinaw City side of bridge but book early. Mid July is bound to be very busy.

Perfect thanks. You can only take online searches so far. The real life advice far more valuable. I really do need to start booking now. Probably harder to get a hotel in Lakes Country around the 4th weekend than at Carlisle.
If it wasn’t the busy season I would probably just start driving and find a place when I am ready to stop. Probably not a choice here. My wife wouldn’t be happy sleeping in the car.
