A lot of us probably first saw the kind of car we wanted on TV, movies, or in print before we saw the real thing in person.
For some reason, at an early age I was strangely drawn to these ‘72 Polaras I saw on TV...what made you want your car?

I don’t believe I saw that movie.
People say I look like the tall guy in these pics though

Too many to think about! We bought a new '56 Savoy 4-dr, but I really liked the '57 Fairlane 500 my Dad's banker bought a year later. I was in kindergarten at that time. My uncle had a new '55 Belvedere, which I tend to like better than our Savoy, at the time.

But then came the '57 Chrysler products that were really neat! Plymouths, Dodges, and DeSotos, too. "Pushbottons"!

'63s were neat, especially the Letter cars. '65s were more upscale and formal, with increasing performance levels.

Then came the Fuselage Cars! 300s were the best, to me. My high school graduation car, IF it had happened, would have been a '70 300 4dr ht. Enough size and room to last me for many years! AND "Upscale", too.

The '74s came and brought a return to the "open greenhouse" styling, which I liked. THEN came the Cordoba! Just the right car at the right time, for Chrysler! When I found one of the first ones to hit in Fort Worth, I looked it over closely. But I wanted a tilt wheel, which didn't happen until the '76 model year (which, to me, is the best one of the mix). Never could afford one, biting for the used '70 Monaco Brougham 4drht I ended up with.

With each new model year or platform, I could find something I could be happy with, usually C-bodies, but a few B/E bodies, too. Some more than others. Usually Chryslers more than Dodges, although there were some very spiffy Dodges, too. '68-'70 Chargers, but the '72-'74 Charger SE 400 HO, too.

Unfortunately, as each model platform evolved, there were some issues which surfaced which seemed to take some of the original luster off of them. Some more than others. Enough so that while I still have fond memories of seeing them new and considering how I'd order one as I desired, not so much any more. Having gotten to the stage when finding a shop to even work on an older car can be a chore, for things I can't do myself, having something newer tends to make more sense. But, I was amazed at how many nice first-gen Cordobas came up on the BarnFinds.com website several years ago.

During the CB days, my handle was "Cordoba Kid", which was well-recognized by others. Had a nice ring to it. Made my friend (who had a more formal handle) mad that they kept asking what his was, but always understood mine. LOL

In our Mopar club, I've been around most all of them, at one time or another. I like them ALL, just some more than others. All I've generally owned/driven is C-body cars, which is plenty fine by me. A few diversions into GM-land, with a '58 Fairlane in the barn.

Enjoy!

Nobody told me the CB days were over!
I have a Montgomery Ward 775 mobile on a 12v power supply in my garage. It’s hooked to a Antron 99 with ground plane kit. I might have a “foot warmer” too..my handle is Easyrider.

Yep and with rabbit years for an antenna. Those were the days all of two channels to watch.
My dads 57 Plymouth was a great one and then his 66 fury II. Had a 59 Lincoln in between that was quite the car.
I’d say the first Mopar I rode in was my dads 1970 Fury 2dr. I remember standing on the transmission hump while going down the street. Dad would fire up a Pall Mall non-filter with a Zippo lighter, look at me and say,” wanna hear Suzy talk?” I’d nod my head and he would mash that Fury’s go pedal to the floor. The engine would roar to life and I would go flying backwards till I landed in the seat beside him. Once in a while he’d let me make Suzy talk by mashing the pedal down myself!

I was a died in the wool B body guy. Been that way since 63 when I got my first Mopar, a 62 Plymouth Fury. First new car was a special ordered 69 A12 Road Runner.
Then, sometime around 2001 I bought a garage find 1964 Chrysler 300 convertible. A nice car in Rosewood with white top and interior. I spent some time and money getting it road worthy and started to drive it. Almost from that time on my B body's, A 69 GTX, A Runner A12 and a 65 Coronet 500 convertible, just sat. Being a driver of my cars the Chrysler became the car of choice. The B body'

s went to new homes and I've had C's ever since.
Now I'm awaiting delivery of my next. A 67 Polara 500 convertible.....

1st. XKE - I was 6 or 7 yrs old. The first car I remember that looked like no other.
2nd. Stingray - The next great looking car. The launch anticipation of the 63 vette was as big or bigger than the Mustang.
Still have a soft spot for the 62 Dodge and Plymouth as these were Dad’s first company cars thus the first new cars the family drove.

In 1961 I was just a little guy when Dad brought home his jet black 1955 New Yorker sedan.
My first taste of the Forward look and I have never looked back.
A 1958 Plymouth suburban , followed by TWO 1960 Plymouth wagons were also in our household over the years.

True to my heritage a one owner 1956 Plymouth Savoy sedan with flathead 6 and overdrive was my first car

Dad always had a full size Mopar. Many C bodies, consequently have fond memories for me when I see them. I tried to find pics with the right colour/ body style...I annotate the colour of the car Dad had if the pic is wrong:

It may have began earlier for me! But THIS one I remember certainly being the Segway to my addiction to cars.. I remember going to the movies with Dad the day it came out..

At a very early age I wanted anything MoPar because of my family driving them only. At 13 I got my first car, a '55 Desoto for $5! Got it running with my dads and the neighbors (who was also the Chrysler dealer) help. Then I had my '64 Sport Fury, and entered my B body phase. Then a '73 340 Duster and a '78 W150 short box with a 440 that was my first new vehicle. Marriage and kids saw me go to Cordobas and mini vans. Wanting to get back into vintage MoPars and not having a lot of cash to spend I (we..thanks to my wife Julie), got the '66 Newport. Now we have the '62 Polara, '62 300, '78 D150 and the Newport!
And thru all of this....I still have my dads '70 Coronet 500 2dr hardtop ( he bought new) that needs a total restoration.....next year I hope!
