Cars we wish we had kept.

The black Mirada was an 82 CMX with 318, cabriolet roof, power just about everything even the passenger seat. Some poor judgements made in there but you cant keep them all.

Never a bother, brother:thumbsup:

Miranda CMX as he just said...

She wasn't a panty dropper, but she was my first car and a MOPAR. So cut me some slack.. lol. 1968 Plymouth Valiant. Slant 6 and nothing else's. Barebones, 4 wheels a paint job.

This may have been a subject of discussion at some stage in the past, but here goes anyway.
Reading a few comments earlier today with reference to cars people wish they hadn't got rid of, so I'll start with these:

Never matters... this subject is always a soul searching experience of sorts as we reminisce of past loves and the ones that got away. No, the missus doesn't really get it , but is OK with it not being another woman longed for.
I'm 6'2" and I chose not to keep this car for myself when me and a couple of buddies finished the resto on it because I just didn't feel right behind the wheel with that belt line, oh and I couldn't really afford it at the time...

I have a particular weakness, one of my favorites from my early years was a 73. I'm pretty sure I'm locked into the C Body world, but I would add one if the perfect opportunity came. Someone would have sell me the real estate to hold more along with the B Body in a package that didn't get my "adult supervisor" too twisted up. A very unlikely set of circumstances.
SHESH, Where to start??? My 3rd car bought from a neighbor across the street in the spring of '55, A '34 3 window coupe, chopped , channeled, Z'd, Tijauna tuck 'n roll interior, 59ABV8 Offey Headz, Eddlebrock 3 2s, Zephyr 3 spd, and Columbia rear. Sold in early July 1956 for $350.00 'cuz I had just joined the Marine Corp and waz going to go see the world and kill all the dirty commies. My entire tour in the Corp I never left SoCal and the guy I sold it to wouldn't take twice that to let me buy it back. Sorry no pix, Jer
Wow Jer, you never fail to have a trump card in your deck... I look forward to the discussions at Carlisle, but I am never playing poker with you.:poke:
somewheres in the early 80-s when the mustang finally managed to bring back the power to rear wheel drive platform.
i think? otis chandler may have been one of the guys who pushed that term for years.

btw,i know this probably hurts, but,if it wasnt for that mustang,
today we wouldnt have hemi challengers again to buy.
I can accept there is truth in your analysis... imagine a world where this became the Mustang

Dave, I didn't want to lump you into the herd...

NO1UKNO ... you wouldn't be allowed within a football field of any schools or playgrounds around here.

I was at the Valley Forge Music Fair for a Waylon Jennings concert. We walked to the back of the building to look at the bus. " No One You Know" was on the front of his bus. This van was my family bus.
Now that the family has grown it more matches the chip on my shoulder.

The first part is kool the second part is where I assumed it came from.:poke:

You don't like it?
Love it... I was thinking chip, not Waylon... but it is a shame that such a useful vehicle these days is going to have the crossing guards writing down that plate number.

It was hauling kids. If the plate number was being reported it was from the wife doing burnouts.

1969 Dart GTS 440
1966 Bonneville conv
1963 Lincoln conv
1955 Cameo pickup
1979 Dodge hippie van
1995 F350 4x4 CrewCab
1996 Dodge dually Club Cab
1967 Dodge D100 CSS
1966 Mustang GT coupe

That's about 10% of the ones wish I had kept.

That Charger is one of my all time favorite B-bodies. Same basic body as my 73 Roadrunner, and even me being 6'8" all I had to do was adjust the seat a little to have plenty of leg and head room.

As for cars I regret selling, some more then others but here's my list.

69 Charger 383/2bbl car but had a 400/4bbl in it when I got it. Sold it after I spun out on black ice and crunched the rear pass quarter. Found it last year in the parking lot of the mopar show, really ratty now and tried to talk to the current owner but he was a total d!ck and just yelled at me to get away from his car.
72 Demon, was a bare bones car slanty/auto on column, with 14" steelies and caps, brown with tan bench. Grenaded 2 slanty motors and was so pi$$ed I called a wrecker to drag it off.....really regret that decision.
1980 Plymouth caravelle, 2dr. was 318/auto
68 Coronet 500 convertible, not because I really liked the car, but it was my very first full nut and bolt resto.
70 Sport Fury 318/auto
73 Roadrunner survivor car white with white bucket console interior, 340/auto with 3.23 suregrip, ralleye gauges etc. Found it a year or so ago being sold to a USA collector for $25K USD, tad more then the $7500cdn I sold it for. ;)

That bloke wasn't just a dick, but either very brave or very stupid, yelling at a 6'8" individual...

I don't get too worked up over these types of people. Once I realized what type of person he was and he had yelled at me I kept purposely touching the car to get him even more riled up. I even put a note with my contact info on it if he ever wanted to contact me....he lost his mind when I slipped it in the drivers window...LOL!!

Only way to deal with guys like that....don't get riled up and treat them like a small child with a condescending grin on your face.

I'd say in no particular order

70 Lime green 440+6, 4 speed, trak pac RR
67 burgundy 300, low mileage all original leather seats, A/C, and AM/FM
67 b7 blue white top/bucket interior 383 sport fury
68 White 4 speed RR with black vinyl top and interior and decor package
70 Satellite Conv 383 hemi orange/white top/interior/A/C
89 Red mustang GT 5 speed - first ever new car
68 LL1 Turquoise Coronet R/T, white interior, floor shift, rallye dash, A/C, Power brakes/steering - TX car

There were several I didn't buy that I could have and should have - and held onto.

70 Hemi RR B5/Black interior Auto that had 12,000 miles and original owner wanted/asking $12K - could have been got cheaper but was like brand new
70 Superbird for $2,500 - top banana
71 GTX 440-4 - guy begged me to buy it for $600 in 1982 ... me nah, 68-70 4 speed was all I was into then.
71 GTX 440+6 4 speed

I wish I had a crystal ball in 1981-83 time frame

cars I still have:

70 FE5 4 speed, AG, black top and charcoal interior, AM 8 track, console, buckets, tach, A31 pg
68 Coronet R/T Conv, Red, white interior, black top
99 Durango - metallic blue / grey interior - second and last new car
13 T&C - I love that van

74 Duster 360 with 63,000 miles on it.
Red with black interior .
Factory three speed on the floor with a bench seat .
It ran flawlessly and I loved the sound of its thermoquad wide open.
I practically gave it away in 1980 or so as a trade in on a Dodge Omni .
