Does anyone know where I can get a center console for my 1969 Fury III. When I bought it, it had seats from a 1977 Chrysler New Yorker in it. Is recently purchased a set of original 1969 power bucket seats, but need a center console. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Well, new or used? They're out there. Reproduction too. Classic Industries, among others. Remember, the console shell and all parts for linkage are pretty much the same as "b" body. BUT, the brackets that are welded to the floor are different. So that will be your biggest challenge. You have to find "c" body brackets

Used? A Parts wanted ad here in the Marketplace forums.

It has been noted in threads in here that the shifter arm on the C-body shifter is longer than the similar B-body item. About an inch or so? Yet they are shaped the same.

As "sexy" as a center console might be, it would be probably easier to find the "buddy seat"/center arm rest for the bucket seat interior. Might be able to go back into the "Slab" era, but would need the correct Fuselage brackets (maybe fabbed?).

I'm NOT sure how the vehicle order would have been orchestrated, BUT in my '67 Chrysler Factory Service Manual, in the illustrations of the center console and bucket seats, there is a small inset above the main illustration. That inset indicates a block-off plate that would go into the shifter slot in the console. I had seen it for years and did not know what it was about, UNTIL I looked much closer at it. I then found the block-off plate listed in the Chrysler Parts Manual! Which means that, somehow, it was possible to get a bucket seat car with a center console AND still have a column shift automatic shifter in it. How would that happen? "Special Handling" Instructions?

Enjoy!

The block off plate was used in the 66 Chargers with a tree- on-da- tree. Didn't know there would be other lines that would have used it.

The C body brackets that are welded to the floor can be made yourself and welded or screwed to the trans hump. I had a bench seat and went to buckets and console. Made my own brackets from aluminum bar stock. The tricky part was getting the height right. Would seem easy but it's got to allow shifter to move correctly and be approx in line with seat height and allow carpet underneath, which is harder if seats not installed. Probably guys here could give dimensions on their brackets to help get you started. In the end I had to shim the shifter mount , and bracket height slightly with washers.
