Like I own an 73 NYB I really love to see CS43T3C108546 made bei AMAG Automontage Schinznach AG. I wish I could afford it, there are for sure very few of this "Made" in Europe.

I think this is a historically grown habit. Many cars in the former times came with plain steel wheels, no dish covers. Only luxury cars maybe had aluminium wheels. So the luxury was to put this alu wheels on regular cars.

And like there are no or not many aluminium wheels for c body we keep it to the plain steel ones. I would do this either :D.

I fully agree! Of course, I don't understand why people put dog dishes or torque thrust wheels on cars like New Yorkers, either; it's like everyone thinks every old car is a muscle car when, in fact, very few were.

I don't know when factory wheel covers became such a "dirty word", but many are very nice-looking and unique... certainly more-so than everyone using the same mags on their cars.
 
Well some american dudes put 8x15 Barracuda Ralley wheels on my NYB. It's ok for me because the factory wheels would have been to small for me, but I never would have bought them by myself. Looks pretty good l, but I've been asked several times which kind of (Chevrolet or Cadillac) muscle car the NYB is :D.

For my part I claim, that most people over here have very bad associations with Chrysler due to the DaimlerChrysler era and the poor quality the cars (from Chrysler) of this time are notorious for.

The NYer there seems to be one of the very few that were imported to Switzerland back in the day. Amag was the importer. They even built some A-bodies there (from parts made in the US.) The C-bodies were all imported from the US, but they all needed some ”sorting out” due to pretty haphazard quality control in the first place. Amag took care of that and attached their own fender tag to prove it.

'70s Chrysler quality being iffy? I can't believe it (extreme sarcasm) :rofl:My grandfather bought a then-new '71 Charger 383 and within a few thousand miles the transmission ate itself and the clock hands fell off. It proceeded to eat fuel pumps like candy for the rest of its short/miserable life.
 
No! DaimlerChrysler AG (1998–2007)! Not this gorgeous cars from "better times". They couldn't bring Mercedes Benz and Chrysler successfully together.

Chrysler has a pretty long track record of build quality problems. The slab side cars were markedly better than the fuselage cars. ’69 and ’70 were perhaps the worst years regarding build quality. There were design faults, and build quality problems. Then again, it seemed to vary: if you happened to get a well built specimen, it was a very good car.
