So my clock died again. When I bought the car 6 years ago, it was dead so I took it out cleaned and serviced it. Was running great for years. It's dead again. I'm ok with doing the job again...if it will work again.

But was wondering if there are any discrete upgrades I can do to the clock to remove the old mechanics and have it run more reliably than it does now.

Thanks!

It is the points recharge that lose their continuity from the constant arcing every few minutes. If you clean and file the points it should run again. I usually put a drop of clock oil on the moving parts when I do maintenance on mine. I use this oil.
Other than that, you could send it in for an upgrade to the quartz movement. Myself, I like hearing the "click" everytime the points make contact.
