In a 69+ car about how far is the front of the console to the plastic heater vent? Here is a pic of what I mean with a console without top plate. Its about 3" I know its tight up there and hard to see so whatever u get from the edge of the top plate to the plastic heater vent is fine. thx

I don’t have pictures of the front edge of the console but I do have some pictures of the brackets from my 69 sport fury parts car. Hope this helps. First pictures are from the passenger side.

Doing a console addition to my car that never had one. Those are helpful and at one time I thought I needed to position my mounting brackets in the factory locations. But now I decided that isn't as important as the general front to back and left to right orientation of the entire console. So if you have a finished installed console I'm just wondering how far back it is front the heater duct. Yes the aftermarket shifter I have already will dictate somewhat my location but I want to know where a stock console would be anyway. My shifter was added (PO) when it had bench seats so it might be further forward that what it would be if it had buckets.

Exactly what I needed. That allows me to be confident on where the Hurst Promatic shifter needs to be while keeping the same distance to the buckets that I have yet to get covered and put in. Thanks again. I looked for pics but rarely do you find console-dash crotch pics. Sexy sounding but more fetish than mainstream.
